Sophia looked down, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness, "I just feel a bit down, wanted to sit outside for a bit. Can you not be
so serious?"
"What's up?" Jason smirked, teasing her, "Wasn't it a movie date with Robin? Why the long face?"
"The movie didn’t happen. Something cup at his work, and he had to go back!" Sophia slumped in disappointment.
Jason frowned, "How busy can he possibly be? Ignores you when you're sick, stands you up on dates, and dashes back to the office
late at night as if he's the president! Have you ever checked if he's actually working?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSophia looked at him, shocked.
Realizing he might've gone too far, Jason averted his gaze, saying more calmly, "I'm just... annoyed!"
Annoyed that Robin didn’t cherish Sophia, that Sophia didn’t stand up for herself, and most of all, at himself for losing control over
his emotions.
Sophia reached out, gently holding onto his sleeve, "I know you're upset on my behalf, but | trust him. He's not like that, he's really
giving his all."
Jason's frown deepened, and he struggled not to snatch his sleeve back from her grip, seeing her dejected look stopping him in his
tracks.
Holding back his irritation, he said with a hint of bitterness, "If you're so understanding of him, why mope around?"
"Can't | have a little mood?" Sophia retorted.
Jason looked at her deeply, his heart aching. Robin was the one upsetting her, yet he was the one feeling her pain.
In another life, he must have owed her a great deal.
Sophia then said, turning towards him, "Jason, I'm moving back htomorrow. I'm better now, no need for meds, or anyone to
look after me."
Jason leaned against the porch pillar, gazing into the night sky, "Yeah, if you want to go back, then go."
"Will you stay here?" she asked.
His gaze deepened as he looked at her, "Without you here, what's the point?"
Sophia chuckled, "So, you've been staying here to make sure Evelyn doesn’t bully me?"
Jason paused, then nodded, "Partly."
