Chapter 346 The Overprotective Husband
She surfed the net and shortlisted three companies before submitting her resume to each of them. It took her only a few
moments to receive her first interview.
The application process went smoothly from the beginning till the offer. Mu Zhi was happy with it, so she accepted the offer
without considering the other companies.
This company looked trustworthy to Mu Zhi. Everyone was inviting, and she mixed in blissfully.
Mu Zhi did not know why she had started to love working.
And undoubtedly, she would never dare to inform Xie Xiu about getting a job.
Xie Xiu did not spend any time in the country since they last met.
She enjoyed a week of work seamlessly. During the first day of the second week, she returned home to – lo and behold – seeing
Xie Xiu sitting on the couch.
Mu Zhi froze and stared at Xie Xiu in disbelief.
Then asked with a frown, “What are you doing back here?”
She put up a nonchalant front so that Xie Xiu wouldn’t notice her nervousness.
But when Xie Xiu met her eyes, then casually turned his gaze to the clock on the wall, he said, “Just finished work?”
Xie Xiu spoke bluntly on purpose to give Mu Zhi a chance to explain.
True enough, Mu Zhi chuckled awkwardly upon hearing his words, then said, “Honey, didn’t you put me out of work last time?
How could I still be working? I’m jobless.”
“You’re not a good liar.”
Seeing how nervous Mu Zhi was, Xie Xiu muttered with furrowed brows.
In response, Mu Zhi gaped her eyes and mouth for several moments..

“I... Fine.”

She then spread her arms helplessly with a sigh, “It’s true, I found another job.”
“It’s too boring to stay at home every day. I’m eager to experience what you feel at work. Besides getting to know you better, I
think I can slowly gain an understanding of how others live normally.”
Mu Zhi was seemingly anxious when she explained herself. She clutched the bottom seam of her blouse firmly in restlessness.
Xie Xiu laughed softly at this sight.
He slowly approached Mu Zhi and said, “Don’t worry, I won’t blame you. Give me the name of your company so I can look into it.
I want to make sure that there is no issue with the company, you can go to work peacefully.”
“What if there’re issues?”
Mu Zhi was intimidated by Xie Xiu’s request and was reluctant to tell him more.
However, she understood that she couldn’t help it. Xie Xiu could have easily looked into her workplace, which would bring even
more troubles.
Without any option, she told him a company’s name, “Xinghao Media.”
Xie Xiu found it unfamiliar.
Thus, he was slightly relieved. “Let me teach you some ways to survive at your workplace, alright?” He proposed to her.
Mu Zhi was disgruntled to hear that.
She spread her hands at him and said, “Forget it. I know that you care for me, but you should learn to let go a little and let me
explore life.”
“You trust your woman to be a capable one, right?”
Mu Zhi gazed at him seriously, “We should be equals in a marriage, instead of letting me stay under your wings forever.”
Mu Zhi did not say anything else after that. She locked her eyes at him with a stern face.
She seemed eager to persuade him.

Similarly, Xie Xiu had his eyes on her for a long while and ended up nodding. He caressed Mu Zhi’s silky hair and said, “Don’t let
anyone know that you’re my wife. If it comes to that, you could bring up my name to your chairman. Keep a low profile among
your colleagues.”
“Haven’t I told you not to teach me? Now that you’ve taught me these, how am I supposed to make the most of my potentials?”

Mu Zhi pretended to be angry with a playful remark.
Xie Xiu then glanced at her helplessly. At last, he chose to compromise.
“Okay now, get changed and we’ll get dinner.”
Upon finishing his words, Xie Xiu went upstairs for a change of clothes.
Mu Zhi watched him leave and secretly sighed in relief.
She had no idea why she was always tensed when facing Xie Xiu.
Similarly, she would always struggle to fulfill her house-wife duties despite how hard she tried.
But at the thought that she’d be allowed to work, Mu Zhi became much more relaxed.
After dinner, Xie Xiu headed to the company to work overtime while Mu Zhi made her way to the bedroom for a night of sleep.
Early in the morning, she washed up and hurriedly rushed to work.
Xie Xiu had his men compile everything they could get their hands on Xinghao Media, including their financial and management
states. Everything was presented to him in the morning without further ado.
He analyzed the company as his own company and concluded that it was suitable for Mu Zhi.
The owner of the Xinghao was a frivolous prodigal son from a wealthy family. He started the company without ambitions to grow
it. Every staff was simple-minded, so they got along without issue. There was no competition among its team, and it was made
up of mostly female workers.
All in all, it was perfect for Mu Zhi, where she could grow like a delicate rose in a greenhouse.
After skimming through the company’s reports, he put every document away contentedly before diving right back into his work.

Apart from Xie Xiu, Lu Jinye had also received the same information regarding Xinghao.
He went through the reports with a solemn frown and returned them to the secretary.
Standing at the side, Linda uttered jokingly, “Mr. Lu, shall we acquire the company?”
At the sound of her words, Lu Jinye curved his lips into a smirk.
“Nah.”
Linda was confused.
Despite rumors stating that Xie Xiu was a protective husband, she understood that Xie Xiu would never compare to Lu Jinye as a
screamingly protective husband!
To her surprise, Lu Jinye did not make his move immediately after learning about Mu Zhi’s new workplace.
“If there’s nothing else I can help you with, I shall excuse myself.” Uttered Linda, unsure of what was going through Lu Jinye’s
head.
