Chapter 260 Hamilton's eyes held a storm of icy resolve, like a man pushed to his limits with nowhere left to explode. "When did they notice she was gone?" "About two hours ago, someone from that side called saying they couldn't find her, and her phone was off too." Two hours ago, he and Natalia had just left the bar.
Hamilton's gaze was deep and frosty.
Out of nowhere, she disappears, just like that, into thin air.
Could Eveleen really pull that off on her own? He took a drag from his cigarette, lowering his gaze.
"Trash the old man's crew, and send them back to him as a message!" "What about Eveleen?" Hamilton looked out into the night in silence.
After a while, he finally spoke, "First, we search; if that fails, we involve the police." Alden sighed, but complied.
That Eveleen, barely a few days of calm, and here we go again.
And finding her is one thing, but it's another worry if she's pulled another stunt.
His brother had just met Natalia, and he didn't need Eveleen stirring up trouble again.
Alden hurried off to make arrangements after hanging up.
Natalia, feeling a bit dizzy, walked out of the bathroom after a shower and saw Hamilton standing by the window. The man seemed to be enveloped in a gloom, and with one look, she could tell he was in a foul mood.
So much so, he hadn't even noticed her cout.
"Is something wrong?" Natalia asked softly.
Hamilton snapped back to reality, the chill on his face melting away.
Instead of answering directly, he teased, "You're done showering already? Why didn't you wait for me?" Natalia wasn't in the mood for his evasion.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHolding a towel, she dried her hair and said, "Hamilton, could you getsmedicine?" Hamilton paused, immediately realizing what she meant.
She didn't want to get pregnant.
A bittersweet smile crossed his face.
Once, he didn't want it when she longed for it, and now when he wanted it, she was hesitant.
He embraced Natalia, "I thought you liked kids?" Natalia's fingers tensed slightly, then resumed drying her hair as if nothing was amiss.
She did like kids.
But she dared not think about pregnancy.
Fully aware that the Fowler family wasn't fond of her, with a Delilah eyeing their every move, and an ambiguous situation with Eveleen.
A child would only bring danger to her and the baby.
The memory of Eveleen causing her miscarriage was still vivid in her mind.
Besides, with her health, taking medicine was more a comfort than a precaution.
Hamilton kissed her forehead, "Medicine could cause you allergies, let's not take any." Natalia paused, shooting him a glare, "Knowing I'm allergic yet you didn't use protection! If you won't use it next time, don't touch me!" Hamilton pretended not to hear her threat.
If he was set on having a child, nothing she said would change his mind.
He whispered lovingly, "If it happens, let's keep the baby." Something in Natalia stirred.
Though the chance was slim, his words were still heartwarming.
Having a child with Hamilton was a dream she once cherished.
But now, it seemed only a distant fantasy.
She didn't mention the medicine again, simply pushing him gently, "Go shower, you're all sweaty." Hamilton chuckled, "All for you, working myself to the bone while you relax." Natalia blushed, "Then maybe you shouldn't work so hard." Hamilton, nibbling her ear, teased, "Even if it kills me, I'd gladly do it." Laughing, he got up to fetch the hairdryer, drying her hair before heading into the bathroom himself.
Not long after, Hamilton's phone rang.
It was Alden.
Natalia glanced at it and decided to bring it to the bathroom.
But before she could get there, the call ended.
Pausing, she placed the phone back, only for Alden to call again.
With a sigh, she answered, only to hear Alden's urgent message.
"Bro, we found Eveleen. She's on the rooftop of the sanatorium, threatening to jump. Nothing's convincing her, she insists on seeing you. We've got safety measures in place downstairs, and people are trying to reach her upstairs." Natalia, processing Alden's words, took a moment before responding, "Alden, it's Natalia. Your brother's in the shower. I'll hand him the phone." Alden paused, quickly trying to explain, but Natalia cut him off.
"No need to explain to me. The person who should, isn't you." She walked into the bathroom, Hamilton's impeccable form under the shower caught her eye for a moment before she handed him the phone.
"Alden called. Your Eveleen's threatening to jump off a building." Hamilton turned off the shower, running a hand through his wet hair before taking the phone and hanging up.
As Natalia turned to leave, Hamilton caught her wrist, pulling her back.
"Upset?" Natalia's heart ached.
Turning to face Hamilton, she took a moment before saying, "Hamilton, I'm giving you a choice. Go to Eveleen if you must, but if you do, don't cback to me. I won't share a man with another woman." With that, she freed herself from his grasp and left the bathroom.
Outside, she felt a pang of pain, her eyes swelling with unshed tears.
Despite telling herself to trust him, the hurt was undeniable.

He grabbed a bathrobe, drying off in a hurry before stepping out to find Natalia.
She was sitting by the window, lost in the night's embrace.
"I'm not going, don't worry. I've told you, I'm only yours." After saying that, he paused, "I texted Alden, told him to figure it out himself." Natalia glanced back at him.
"Aren't you worried Eveleen might actually jump?" Hamilton's eyes darkened, he knew better than anyone that Eveleen was only making a scene because he was there.
She wouldn't jump. She was just using her own life to pressure him.
She knew all too well that he didn't want her dead.
So, she dared to cut her wrists, dared to stab herself in the chest, and now, she ever dared to threaten to jump off a building. But, there had to be a limit to everything.
"If she really wanted to jump, I couldn't stop her anyway." After saying that, he chuckled lightly, his long fingers caressing her face, "Still jealous?" Natalia glared at him, "I'm not jealous."
"Hmm." Hamilton's voice was deep, "I can almost smell the jealousy all the way back home, and you say you're not jealous?" Natalia ignored him. Hamilton leaned down to kiss her lips, then carried her back to the bed.
"We could be doing something else with this time, instead of you being jealous." Natalia kicked him, "Keep it up, and you won't touchfor a month!" Hamilton instantly froze.
He muttered under his breath, "That's harsh." Natalia calmed down and closed her eyes.
She was truly exhausted.
The fatigue of over ten days had already drained her, and today's events with Hamilton, coupled with the effects of alcohol, had taken a toll. As soon as she closed her eyes, sleepiness hit her for real.
But before she could fall asleep, Hamilton's phone rang again.
Hamilton glanced at Natalia, then got up to answer it.
Alden's voice cthrough from the other end. "Eveleen jumped."
