Chapter 448
Vespera agreed to attend Evelyn's wedding.
Before long, they arrived at the helipad. The helicopter was already waiting. They stepped off the carriage and
boarded the helicopter.
Through the window, they spotted the young coachman still standing by the path. He smiled and waved. Then,
he mouthed something.
Calvert deciphered it and realized that the coachman was saying, "Till we meet again."
Vespera stared through the glass and met the coachman's gaze. Her blood ran cold.
"It's her!" Vespera shouted.
The coachman had already leapt back into the carriage and snapped the reins. The carriage bolted down the
path. A rubber mask fluttered from the window. The long hair streamed out from behind as the carriage
vanished. It was like a taunt.
Calvert wanted to leap out of the helicopter and go after the coachman, but Dominic stopped him and barked,
"Get back here!"
"But Mr. Reid..." Calvert mumbled.
"It's tfor us to leave," said Dominic firmly.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtCalvert was frustrated. He reluctantly returned to his seat. He had caught the faintest trace of that person's
scent, and yet Dominic had stopped him.
Dominic patted Calvert on the head and said, "Don't press an enemy at bay." Soon, the helicopter lifted off the
ground. Below them, the carriage had gone into the mountains. Inside the helicopter, it was silent.
Vespera clenched her hands for a long time.
"Don't worry. She was just trying to rattle us," muttered Dominic, pulling her into his arms. When he took her
hand, he noticed how cold it was. His heart instantly sank.
Vespera was very competitive, but when it cdown to it, she didn't have the means to fight such a person
face-to-face. Since Dominic was the one who had dragged her into this mess, he felt guilty. He decided to end
this as soon as possible.
The helicopter sent them back to Londarion. They first headed to the villa, where the maid had already prepared
a sumptuous dinner.
However, the
e food went mostly untouched as everyone didn't have an appetite. Although they had won, the woman who
should have been captured had slipped through their fingers in the most humiliating way. She dropped her
disguise.and mocked them as she fled. It left a bitter taste in their mouths. s
Evelyn stabbed into the food so hard that the plate cracked. She muttered, "They're so annoying. Dominic, what
else can | do to help?"
All Evelyn wanted to do was to take them down.
Dominic replied, "You and Vance already helped a lot. There's nothing else for now."
Vance said, placing a firm hand over Dominic's, "Don't be so distant with us. You're our good friend."
Dominic withdrew his hand and answered, "Alright. In that case, I'll be counting on you. | have a few follow-up
tasks that need your network."
Vespera felt touched hearing that. Her mind drifted back to the day they had faked a fight at the mushroom
tower.
Vance was actually pretty adorable. Besides, he had such a noble status and was a proud man, yet he was as
pure as a kid. In fact, he wasn't the dominant one in his relationship with Evelyn. Nevertheless, they seemed
happy. s
After dinner, Vance and Evelyn left first. Later that night, Dominic had Gerard and Calvert bring their luggage
upstairs.
At 7:00 pm, it was tto head to the airport. Vespera secretly sent Rebecca a message, saying that she would
be flying back tonight. Meanwhile, Gerard was elated to finally be going home.
Once aboard the plane, everyone relaxed, except Dominic, who turned on his laptop and got to work. On the
other hand, the others fell asleep.
A long while later, Mia cover to wake them up as they had landed. Vespera looked out the window. Seeing
that it was raining and the weather didn't seem different from Londarion, she fell into deep thought.
To the side, Gerard dragged the covers off his head and asked, "Have we landed? Did | sleep for 12 hours? Why
is it raining in Halewick, too? Does the rain ever stop?"
Calvert pointed out the window and said, "Vespera, Gerard, this doesn't look like Halewick."
In the distance, the airport staff all seemed to be people from Elouber. Upon noticing that, Vespera and Gerard
were shocked They glanced at the clock and realized tha@only an
hour had passed.

Dominic turned off his laptop and looked up at Mia, who looked awkward. He said, "Get them each an ibuprofen.
They must have gotten drunk in their dreams."
