They drank well past midnight, yet Athena didn’t call him even once.

Tyler found himself genuinely puzzled. Did she actually want to date him or not? Wasn't she supposed to like him?

He lit a cigarette, the taste bitter on his tongue. Just then, Bert called, so he had hpick him up for another round—why not

keep the night rolling?

The second round landed them at a bar. Tyler was already tipsy, eyes flushed at the corners, the little mole on his nose looking

even more striking, almost dangerously handsin the dim light.

Bert had also had more than enough to drink and was busy boasting to the others at the table.

“Look at Tyler—if he ever took a lead role, the rest of us might as well pack it in.”

He grinned, then continued, “No, seriously, last twe went abroad looking for inspiration, we stopped by a cathedral. Some

famous European director spotted him and tried to cast him right there on the spot. You guys know ‘The Hacker,’ right? All those

actors from Asia fighting tooth and nail just to get a cameo, and the director thought Tyler was just srandom guy, handed him

his card like he'd struck gold.”

Tyler's reputation as a player tended to overshadow his looks, but if you really thought about it, if he weren't so impossibly

attractive, would so many people line up to chase after him? Even a couple of male actors had confessed to him before.

He propped his chin on one hand, half-listening to Bert brag to the group.

Bert was his go-to wingman in the entertainment circle, while outside of it, his closest buddies were lan and Fitch. But their worlds

were different—those two were always busy, rarely had tto hang out. That's why he spent most of his nights with Bert.

Bert glanced over, noticing how unusually quiet Tyler was tonight.

“Tyler, aren't you the guy who never gets drunk? What's up tonight? You've barely said a word since you got here. Your new show

just broke viewing records—shouldn’t we drink to celebrate?”

Tyler was already irritated, and Bert's needling only made it worse.

He grabbed the nearest glass, about to clink it with Bert's, when his phone started buzzing.

He didn’t even bother taking a sip. Instead, he snatched up his phone and glanced at the screen.

But the caller wasn’t Athena. It was Wendy Bennitt.

She was probably just checking if Athena hade hyet.
