Chapter Eighty Six
Thane might notice my absence from the pack, but | couldn't bring myself to care about that now; | needed to
find Isabella or Logan; they were the only ones who could givean explanation of what happened to Thane.
And | couldn't find them without help, so | was off to Jade, the sorceress. 1
Lately, I've been having doubts. What if that wasn’t Thane? What if Daemon had somehow gotten back his
‘abilities?’ But then if it was Daemon, he would have killeda long tago for what | did to him; he had no
reason to keepalive, and let's not forget that Jade had promised to keep him away. But she had lost him
once, there is a possibility she could lose him again.
| flew down to the familiar spot, glad to have my wings back in action; this had been Jade's court, where Nick had
broughtto, but the place looked completely different; trees had sprouted out from the midst of the court,
making it look like she was never here.

He walked into the dressing room. “What are you doing?” | asked him.
“Taking off my clothes, or would you prefer to do that yourself?”
“I am not going to sleep in the sroom with you, and | mean it.”
“It's been a long day at work; your bickering is getting irritating.”
| headed to the door. “If you won't leave, then | will.”

| slammed the door as hard as | could before walking away.
| settled into the very sroom | had stayed in when Bella had to stay with Thane.
It was late in the night when | heard a knock on my door. | contemplated ignoring it; | didn’t need to see Thane
