Chapter 842 Secondhand
The three sect leaders of the Three Sword Sects felt the pervasive sword energy swirling around them. They
stared unblinkingly at the beam of light shooting skyward from the mountain peak, their bodies trembling
uncontrollably, and their faces filled with disbelief. “The inheritor! It’s really the inheritor! The Sword King's
inheritor has appeared!”
After a long period of shock, the leaders of the Three Sword Sects finally accepted this reality.
This was the second inheritor to appear in Mount Kushburn since the closure of Mount Jacaster.
The first was naturally the inheritor of the Azure King’s will at the Crimson Sun Sect.
In less than a month's time, two inheritors had emerged one after the other. Was this a sign of impending
upheaval in Mount Kushburn? Or was it foreshadowing something else?
Everyone was trembling with fear.
Naturally, it was Emrys who accepted the inheritance.
The fifteen minutes when the white light had shone brightly was the the used to face his trial.

Relying on his formidable willpower, Emrys persevered until that voice echoed in his mind once more, “The Azure
King indeed has an eye for talent.”

The moment the voice fell silent, the oppressive sword energy ravaging Emrys‘ body dissipated, He then
accepted the inheritance of swordsmanship.
Emrys wielded Peter's unparalleled sword, slashing and thrusting without any discernible technique. Yet, with
every swing and stab he made, there was a subtle ripple of sword
energy.
This was Emrys‘ own sword energy.
It was distinctly different from the sword energy stored within the Heavenly Fortune Mirror.
Simultaneously, at the center of Emrys* forehead, in the exact spot where the Azure King’s
1/3
imprint resided, a white luminescent imprint was now shimmering. The two existed harmoniously, without any
conflict.
This white imprint, of course, originated from the Sword King's inheritance.
Peter was dumbfounded.
Just moments ago, he was blinded by a brilliant white light, forcing him to close his eyes for a good fifteen
minutes. When he finally managed to squint open his eyes again, he saw Emrys in the process of receiving the
Sword King’s inheritance.
One could say that Peter was incredibly lucky.
During the Sword King’s trial, all the other disciples were shaken off the mountain. Only he remained. As he had
been standing extremely close to Emrys, he was merely tossed a short distance away, but he still managed to
stay on the mountain peak.
At that moment, he was just like Emrys, both enveloped within the massive pillar of white light.
The sword energy Emrys sensed, he could feel too. However, his understanding wasn’t as profound as Emrys’,
who was the legitimate inheritor. It was akin to experiencing secondhand smoke.
Nonetheless, just the secondhand smoke alone was enough to make Peter feel like he was on cloud nine.
He suddenly snapped back to reality, his chubby face flushed a deep shade of red in his excitement.
This was originally Emrys’ stroke of luck, but because Peter was close by, he managed to get a piece of it.
Consequently, it turned into a fortunate opportunity for him as well.
Peter was itching to try out his newfound understanding, but unfortunately, his sword was in Emrys’ possession.
Left with no choice, he circled around and finally found a smooth tree branch on the ground.
And so, Peter started using the branch in his hand as a sword, swinging it around.
He had studied the art of swordsmanship, so when he brandished the branch, his movements were more
structured than Emrys’. There was also a subtle hint of sword. energy wafting about him.

At the foot of Sword King Mountain, a crowd had already gathered. It wasn't just the disciples from-the Three
Sword Sects but also many individuals from other factions.
Just as it had been when the Azure King’s will was passed down, the moment the pillar of light on Sword King
Mountain lit up, all of Mount Kushburn trembled. Everyone knew that another inheritor had emerged.
And so, they all hurriedly arrived.
Among them, several familiar figures could be seen. They were none other than Wyatt, Ameera, and Sylvia.
Ninette did not show up.
She was wholly preoccupied with the instructions given by Emrys before his departure. He had urged her to
make full use of the resources at Cloudmist Academy to enhance her skills. Therefore, she had no interest
whatsoever in the inheritor.
Ameera knew that her daughter harbored resentment in her heart, so she chose not to disturb her.
At that moment, Wyatt's emotions were incredibly complex, yet he was filled with immense anticipation.
He had ample reason to suspect that this newly revealed inheritor to the Sword King’s legacy was none other
than Emrys.
Mount Jacaster had been sealed for over twenty years. In all that time, not a single disciple from the Three Sword
Sects had received the inheritance. Yet, oddly enough, just a few days after Emrys obtained the sword statuette,
an inheritor emerged.
