Chapter 1340
Now that Lydia was staying at someone else's home, he didn't want to burden the York family's staff with the
task of cooking, but he also couldn't expect Lydia to cook for herself. Bringing a chef along seemed like the most
convenient solution. "Dad, you really think of everything." Lydia felt a warm glow in her heart, deeply touched.
She was truly fortunate to have such wonderful parents.
Mr. Fay held her hand. "It's not about thinking things through. It's because | truly love you. When someone
genuinely loves you, they can't bear to see you suffer. Remember that." Lydia nodded. "I understand."
After all the pain she had endured, she knew it was tto wake up. It would be foolish not to.
As they neared the York family estate, Lydia sent Nina a message.
Nina cto the door herself to greet them, giving Mr. Fay a warm nod. "Hello, Mr. Fay. I'm sorry you had to
call this way so late. Would you like to cin for a cup of tea?"

"No need. You young folks probably have a lot to talk about. I'll head back to my wife. Tonight, we'll continue our
little ‘couple's retreat." Mr. Fay chuckled.
By tomorrow morning, he would have the bodyguards arranged and sent over. With them around, he would feel
more at ease. If Quincy showed up, the bodyguards would alert him right away. With so many pairs of watchful
eyes, there was nothing left to worry about. After Mr. Fay left, Lydia and Nina walked towards the villa. About
halfway there, Lydia paused. The sky had turned pitch black, and a strong wind blew dust into her eyes.
As she wiped her eyes, she asked Nina, "Do you think I'm being ungrateful? My parents are getting older, and
they should be enjoying their lives. Yet, because of me, they're still worrying all the time."
"Of course not. You always have them in your heart and you're not ignoring them." Nina patted Lydia's back,
soothing her.
Tears started streaming down
Lydia's face. At home, she held them back during the day, not wanting to upset her parents. At night, she was
afraid of crying, worried that her swollen eyes would give her away in the morning.
But here, with Nina, she finally let herself cry freely.
Nina stayed by her side, quietly comforting her. Once Lydia finished, Nina pulled out a tissue and gently wiped
her eyes. "Let it all out. Afterward, get a good night's sleep."

heart.
Lydia's
She couldn't understand Tiffany's mindset. Why would a young woman choose to be a homewrecker? Did
knowingly getting involved with someone else's husband bring her that much satisfaction?
"Quincy wouldn't go that far, would he?" Nina's first reaction was disbelief. Bringing another woman to the
divorce meeting would burn any bridge between him and Lydia.
Nina knew Quincy, and from what she understood, he wouldn't make such a foolish move.
"Who knows? We'll find out on
Monday." Lydia sniffled, walking alongside Nina. "Even if he doesn't show up with Tiffany, his mom will still be
there. I'm just over it. Honestly, there's no mother-in-law out there who can't wreck a marriage when she's
determined enough."
She really was unlucky to have ended up with such a meddling mother-in-law.
