Chapter 1303
If Tiffany and Quincy had engaged in a romantic encounter, Mrs. Perez was confident she could pressure him into
marriage.
After all, Quincy had just lost a child. If Tiffany were to get pregnant now, how could he remain indifferent?
And even if she didn't conceive, they could always pay off a doctor to forge a pregnancy test. By the tQuincy
discovered the truth, the marriage would already be sealed. Would he really divorce her over it? "No," Tiffany
replied, biting her lip and shaking her head. Despite the effects of the drug, she had tried everything and still
couldn't seduce him.
Quincy's heart was clearly set on Lydia. Otherwise, he wouldn't have resisted so steadfastly, refusing even to
touch her.

Mrs. Perez's expression darkened. "I used a heavy dose. There's no way it didn't have any effect. What on earth
happened between you two?"
Tiffany flushed and briefly recounted what transpired. Mrs. Perez sucked in a sharp breath.
Lydia had clearly bewitched him to the point of self-sacrifice. The more devoted Quincy was to her, the more
determined Mrs. Perez became. She believed that it was better to end things now than prolong the pain.
She was resolute. "If Quincy won't break it off, I'll go to Lydia myself. Now that she's moved out, she shouldn't
cback."
Meanwhile, Lydia drove aimlessly after leaving home, finally parking by the beach. She walked down to the
shore, her vision blurring. She didn't know where to go next. Going back to Quincy was out of the question, and
returning to her parents' house would only invite more lectures.
Her parents had disapproved of Quincy from the start, believing his background didn't match hers. But Lydia had
been deeply in love. She thought it didn't matter as long as Quincy was ambitious and capable, they could build
a life together with hard work.
Reality, however, had delivered a harsh blow.
Returning hmeant enduring endless comments from her parents, who would likely seize the chance to
introduce her to someone new. But the thought of starting over with someone else felt unbearable. "Lydia." A
familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.
She turned to see Eugene approaching. She quickly wiped away her tears, trying to appear unfazed. "You're here
to watch the waves too? What a coincidence."
"I'm not here for the ocean. | cto see you," he replied, stepping closer and draping his jacket over her

Eugene's tone was gentle but tinged with a quiet determination. "I told you before, he wasn't the right one for
you. | have a knack for judging character, and he's never been worthy of you." With her gaze downcast, Lydia
missed the brief glimmer of resolve in his eyes. She shook her head. "That's all in the past. | don't want to talk
about it anymore."
It was over between her and Quincy. She would never reconcile with him.
Seeing her this way, Eugene's breath quickened slightly. He took her hand, unable to hold back. "Have you ever
thought about being with me? I've always had feelings for you. No matter how much tpasses, I'll be right
here, waiting. All you have to do is turn around and look at me."
Just like earlier, all Lydia had to do was turn back. She didn't need to do anything else. He would cto her,
step by step, ready to shield her from any storm and provide her with the comfort she needed.
