It was partly his fault. When Nina booked the room, he had not been clear enough with her, leading her to
believe that they had reached the stage of sharing a bed.
Suppressing the frustration rising within him, Micah said softly, "You take the bed, I'll sleep on the floor."
After all, he had survived the harsh conditions in the northern regions of their homeland. This was nothing in
comparison. But Freya, who loved him deeply, could never let him sleep on the floor.
In a hoarse voice, Freya said, "Micah, you take the bed, I'll sleep on the floor instead. Or maybe..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Micah interrupted sternly, "Did you not hear? It's peak tourist season. If you
go out now, there's no guarantee you'll find another room. And you wandering off alone? How does that even
make sense?" Freya lowered her head, as she always did when she was around Micah. She never dared to raise
her voice, always presenting the gentlest, best version of herself for him.
But to Micah, he preferred dealing with people who were more genuine. Freya seemed too cautious, too careful,
though he did not call her out on it.

"Let's not talk about this anymore. Go take a shower and change into sfresh clothes," he said quietly.
"Okay," Freya nodded obediently.
Unexpectedly, the water at the guesthouse got cut off.
With soap still covering her body, Freya found herself stuck in the bathroom, feeling helpless. "Micah, could you
call the front desk and ask what's going on? The water's out," she called out. There was no way she could step
out covered in soap bubbles.
Micah was just as surprised, but he quickly dialed the front desk.
The receptionist apologized profusely, "I'm so sorry, sir. We have a backup water source, and someone's on the
way to switch it on. Just give us two minutes."
"Make it quick."
Relieved to hear there was a backup, Micah called out towards the bathroom, "They said the water will be back
on in a minute. Just hang tight."
"Okay," Freya replied.
Soon, the sound of water resumed in the bathroom, and after a few minutes, Freya stepped out with her hair still
dripping wet.
"You're not going to dry your hair?" Micah asked.
"I will," Freya smiled, enjoying even these small exchanges. Though their conversations were not filled with
sweet words, these everyday interactions were her greatest happiness.

Meanwhile, Nina was dealing with her own situation. Nash had ordered takeout. There were bubble tea, fried
chicken, and tacos.
Looking at all the food, Nina could

not help but feel exasperated. "I just finished dinner not long ago, and now you've ordered all this. What are you
trying to do?
"Nash, are you trying to fattenup?"
Nash smiled, his lips curling up gently, "You like this stuff. You can snack on it while watching TV No one's asking
you to finish it all." His voice was tender, filled with affection.
Nina sighed, realizing there was no winning with him. Still, she was not hungry, but she thought of Orion and
decided to call him on video chat.
Orion was with his grandfather, and since the two had grown close, he was comfortable in his company. When he
saw Nina, he greeted her happily, "Mom... Dad..."
"Orion, have you and Grandpa eaten yet?" Nina asked, smiling warmly. It was a simple question but filled with
love.
Hearing the word "Grandpa" made Pharaoh's heart swell with pride.
The title had never sounded so sweet.
