Lewis wanted to continue discussing Grace's career, but seeing how stressed she looked, he decided to take a

drive around the block instead.

When they finally got back to the apartment complex, he dropped her off.

Grace looked surprised. Lewis unlocked the door with his fingerprint.

“Why the look? This is my home,” he said.

“This is his place! No wonder Nicole has been so secretive,” she thought, even more surprised.

Remembering the men’s watch she'd seen in the bathroom, Grace finally put it all together and laughed.

“What's so funny?” Lewis asked, curious about her rare smile.

“I just feel so relaxed.” All her worries just disappeared.

Grace realized that ditching a toxic relationship was the best thing she could do for herself.

“So, what's the plan?” Lewis asked, pausing for a moment. “If you're not sure, you can just chill for a bit.”

“No, | want to go abroad,” Grace replied, determined. “And can you helpclose all my accounts? I've got a

fake death certificate ready.”

Lewis frowned, puzzled, but still nodded. Whatever she wanted to do, he would support her.
