Chapter 800

"Sense of smell?"

Silas lifted his eyelids in confusion, not understanding why Marguerite would ask him such a question.

"How do you define sensitive?"

"It's like..."

Marguerite thought for a moment, then suddenly got up and walked to the kitchen. She poured apple cider

vinegar into one bowl and soy sauce into another, then brought them out and placed them beside Silas.

"Take a whiff. Which one is vinegar, and which one is soy sauce?"

Silas was even more bewildered. "Why would we do that?"

Marguerite quickly sat next to him, leaning forward with a look of anticipation. "Just try!"

Silas was truly at a loss, but her serious demeanor made it hard for him to refuse. So, he dutifully brought each

bowl up to his nose.

In a moment, he lifted one of the small bowls. "This one's soy sauce."

"And the other?"

Silas's gaze sharpened. "If this bowl is soy sauce, then naturally, the other must be vinegar. It's common sense."

Marguerite was overjoyed!

She had suspected something off about Silas's identity, and now her trick seemed to have exposed him.

She couldn't wait to confront him, but Silas just smirked and spoke first. "But you, Marguerite, you're not one to

play by the rules, are you?"

Marguerite froze, her smile stiffening.

Silas put down the bowl, crossing his arms and looking at her with a hint of affection. "Both bowls are soy sauce,

aren't they?"

Marguerite met his gaze, suddenly finding herself at a loss for words.

A bowl of vinegar and a bowl of soy sauce - even someone with a compromised sense of smell would have a

fifty-fifty chance of guessing correctly.

But Marguerite had prepared two bowls of soy sauce, deliberately telling Silas she had prepared different

contents.

Yet, he had managed to see through her ruse, so he clearly hadn't lost his sense of smell.

Marguerite was disgruntled, but the man's amusement only grew, his eyes twinkling with laughter as he looked

at her like one would a child.

"Why play such a childish game?"

Marguerite was a bit annoyed and remained silent.

Silas looked at her, seeing her sulking, and suddenly had the urge to pat her head.

His hand was already halfway there when he thought better of it. Instead, he moved the bow! with soy sauce

further away, awkwardly changing the subject.

"People who cook often would naturally have a sensitive nose. Moreover, | can smell a special scent on you."

Marguerite leaned back in her chair, "I sprayed sperfume."

"It smells nice."

Marguerite went to the bedroom and fetched a bottle of perfume, placing it beside Silas. "The fragrance you

smell is from this bottle."

When she moved in last night, she noticed a musty smell in the apartment. Unable to find any air freshener at

the moment, she took out a sample of Polar Radiance and sprayed it around.

By now, the perfhad almost entirely dissipated, making it impressive that Silas could still detect it.

Silas had already unscrewed the bottle cap and taken a sniff, then nodded thoughtfully.

"Yeah, that's the scent."

Right when he walked into Marguerite's apartment, the refreshing fragrance hit him.

Surprisingly, the headache he usually got from seeing Marguerite was significantly alleviated by the scent today.
