Chapter 755

Maurice was well aware of what Frederick was hinting at.

His Achilles’ heel was Marguerite, as well as Teresa.

But with Marguerite out of the picture for the moment, that left only Teresa.

However, Maurice didn't respond right away. Instead, he looked over at the little one and deliberately asked,

"Teresa, you've been passing dishes to Mr. Frederick all evening. Do you have a soft spot for him?"

"Of course!"

The little one's honesty shone through, her head bobbing eagerly, without a hint of hesitation.

But catching the wounded look on Maurice's face, she switched tactics, adopting

a cutesy voice to charm him. "But | love Daddy lots too."

"And would you like to go hwith Mr. Frederick tonight?"

Her eyes lit up at the question. "You mean, | can have a sleepover at Mr. Frederick's place?"

"That's right."

Teresa quickly abandoned her half-peeled shrimp, her excitement making her practically dance in her seat. "Yes,

yes! I'd love to!"

"So quick to decide? Aren't you worried about making Daddy sad?"

Teresa paused, her enthusiasm dampening under Maurice's icy gaze. What's happening? Why does Daddy

Maurice look so scary?

She swallowed nervously, struggling to find the right words. "No... | just... | miss Mommy! She's with Mr.

Frederick, and | want to see her! And I'll cback to keep you company in a few days-"

Maurice's gaze remained unyielding, his tone cool and probing. "So, you knew Mommy was with Mr. Frederick all

along?"

Teresa found herself at a loss under Maurice's questioning tone, her voice faltering.

Terrified of revealing the truth and hurting Daddy Maurice's feelings, she remained silent, barely daring to

breathe.

Frederick, sensing the tension, worried about Teresa's clear bias and Maurice's simmering anger.

Understanding the precarious situation, he swiftly signed the document before him, not even bothering to review

the specifics, and handed it back to Maurice. Then, he stood up, confidently lifting Teresa from her booster seat

into his arms. "We've accomplished what we cfor; it's tfor this little one to head to bed."

Turning to Teresa, he gently patted her back, asking with certainty, "Shall | take you home? Sound good?"

Teresa's eyes sparkled with excitement at Frederick, "Yes!"

With that, Frederick carried her straight towards the mansion's front door.

But as they stepped outside, the patrolling guards immediately surrounded them, their menacing presence

startling Teresa into Frederick's embrace, trembling. The anger in Frederick's eyes was unmistakable as he

turned to face Maurice. "What's the meaning of this?"

Maurice approached with a smile, his finger lightly tracing Teresa's cheek as he softly instructed, "Why don't you

wait in the living room for a bit? Daddy needs to have a word with your uncle."

Teresa, shivering, nodded meekly.

Satisfied, Maurice turned away, "I'll be waiting on the rooftop."
