Lee Seng moved through the steps with Olivia's input. He allowed the soap and sponges to work their magic until Olivia was satisfied. When she was, she told him, and he wrote the water rune.
"You'll go under for a couple of seconds. I'll take it off afterwards. If you're still not cleaned, we'll do it again, alright?" Lee Seng instructed.
"Yeah." Olivia nodded. "I'm ready." Lee Seng swiped the rune and listened to water rush down onto Olivia. He counted to four and then swiped, again. Olivia gasped as she wiped herself. "One more time!" Lee Seng drew the rune and swiped it. He listened to the water filter down into the growing sewage liquid below and counted to four. He swiped again and listened to Olivia gasp for more air and wipe her face.
"How is it this time? Are you good?" Lee Seng asked. He forced his head to stay in place. He didn't want to see anything Olivia didn't want him to see. Olivia lifted her arms and checked around. She nodded, satisfied, and looked at Lee Seng.
"I'm good. Onto the next." Olivia answered. Lee Seng drew the air rune and let it go four seconds. He swiped it off and Olivia told him to do it again, so he repeated the step. He did this a couple of times before Olivia finally said, "I'm good." Lee Seng slowly turned around and watched Olivia comb through her hair.
"Where'd you conjure that?" Lee Seng asked.
"I always keep one on hand." Olivia replied. She patted at the fanny pack that was on her. "C'mon. We can go. I can brush and walk."
"And talk." Lee Seng turned and walked with Olivia. She elbowed him and he rubbed his arm like he was hurt. She rolled her eyes as Lee Seng jokingly flinched at her. "Please don't hurt me…"
"Stop it. It didn't hurt that much!" Olivia elbowed him, again. Lee Seng chuckled while Olivia tried to hold in hers.
The two wandered the sewer tunnels for a while, hoping Lee Seng would find something. Lee Seng couldn't tell what was above. The seismic sensing didn't seem to resonate and move through the liquid correctly, inhibiting him from truly understanding anything.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLee Seng had spotted many monsters with his seismic sense and deterred him and Olivia away from them as much as possible, but the monsters were starting to grow thicker. Every step was a farther reach to something Lee Seng was gaining interest in. Something strange was down here with them and he didn't know what to expect.
Lee Seng lifted his hand up and slowed to a stop. There were three humanoid creatures around the corner. Olivia noticed Lee Seng was looking towards the right. She tapped her bracelet and watched as it rang Lee Seng. Lee Seng clicked his necklace and looked at Olivia.
'We should leave these on now.' Olivia telepathically told Lee Seng. Lee Seng agreed and turned to look at the corner.
'Three around the corner. They're standing there.' Lee Seng informed her of what was happening. Olivia nodded and grabbed the dagger attached to her side.
'Are they Corrupted?'
'They aren't. I can't actually read Corrupted. They hide their energies well and can't be detected with seismic sensing… Ones moving this way.' Lee Seng motioned for Olivia to come closer to the wall. She tip-toed over, pressing herself onto the wall, slightly behind Lee Seng. Lee Seng crouched and snuck over to the corner, keeping himself out of sight.
Lee Seng watched as the humanoid monster slowly moved forward. Its head was tilted to the side as its mouth opened.
"Ahhh…" The monster sounded like one Lee Seng heard in a movie as a kid. The creepy woman with black hair and pale skin. She wore a white gown that was slightly dirtied. He pushed the imagery out of his head as the monster stepped into view. It was a corpse flower zombie. He clicked and groaned as it continued forward.
Lee Seng glanced right, noticing the monsters were still standing around. He crept forward behind the zombie and stood up. In one swoop, he grabbed the monster's head and twisted it off. Lee Seng watched the body float in its spot as he looked behind him.
'Nice one.' Olivia told him. Lee Seng waved for her to come over. Olivia crept over as Lee Seng lowered himself.
'There's two more. You think you can take one?' Lee Seng asked. He pointed in the direction, helping Olivia look over.
'I… I could.' Olivia answered. Lee Seng nodded and counted down with his fingers. When they hit one, he turned his focus in front of him and went for the left zombie. The two slowly made their way over, avoiding anything that might give them away. Lee Seng glanced at Olivia as they reached the zombies. He silently counted while she watched and in unison, the two stood up and grabbed the zombies, twisting their heads.
The zombies' dead bodies hit the floor as Lee Seng let out a sigh of relief.
"Nice." Lee Seng complimented Olivia. "Less work for us." The floating zombie set itself on the ground as Olivia noticed something strange.
"What's that?" Olivia pointed down the tunnel.
"Hm?" Lee Seng moved over to Olivia and tilted his head right as he leaned to his right, a bit. He barely noticed the wall was broken.
"Did you sense that?"
"No. It looked like a smooth wall to me from back there." Lee Seng turned and watched a Corrupted leap into the air and tackle him.
"Lee!" Olivia shouted. She pulled the dagger and rushed forward towards Lee Seng and the Corrupted. Lee Seng slid across the rough ground as he tried to rip the Corrupted off. The Corrupted pushed down onto Lee Seng, ripping the ground around Lee Seng as a fist flew straight for Lee Seng' face.
"Freeze!" Olivia shouted. The Corrupted froze in place for a second before continuing its strike across Lee Seng's face. Olivia lifted the dagger and gritted her teeth. "I said stay still!" The dagger flew straight into the back of the Corrupted. The corrupted erupted in a guttural scream as the knife forced it to straighten its back out and reach for the knife.
The Corrupted froze, giving Lee Seng an opportunity to blast it straight up into the air into the tunnel ceiling. Rocks and dust spilled as Olivia threw her arms up to protect herself. Lee Seng threw a cosmic shield above them and stood up.
The Corrupted unfroze, ripping the dagger and throwing it towards the strange hole in the wall. It clanged, sliding to a stop further into the tunnel. The Corrupted quickly descended, splitting Lee Seng and Olivia apart. The Corrupted turned and swung for Olivia. Lee Seng threw his hand up and grabbed the monster. Gravity grew around it, slowly stopping the monster as Olivia slammed a palm into its heart.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Drain." Olivia spoke the trigger word. The Corrupted energy flooded from the monster and went straight into Olivia. Olivia yelped in pain as the Corrupted energy burned her body. "Ahh!"
"Olivia!" Lee Seng shouted. He ran forward as the monster punched Olivia and turned and grabbed Lee Seng by the throat. It lifted Lee Seng up and screamed in his face. It slammed Lee Seng into the wall, spilling rocks. Olivia's screams filled the air. The energy she had felt like toxic. She pushed the energy out and gasped as her senses shook.
Olivia watched in a dizzy haze as the Corrupted slammed Lee Seng into the wall over and over, again. IT screamed as Lee Seng grew limp from the intense pain. The monster began to squeeze as it pulled Lee Seng back for one last slam.
Purple energy flared around Lee Seng as his eyes opened. They filled with purple as Lee Seng touched the Corrupted's arm and exploded it. It screamed in pain as it dropped Lee Seng onto the ground. Lee Seng stumbled as bones and flesh cracked back into place.
Olivia screamed in pain as the energy flared inside of her. Lee Seng turned to look at her. A simple blink was enough to silence the burning pain within her. He lifted his hand and revealed the purple energy inside of her. Lee Seng launched himself forward and slammed his palm straight into the monster's chest.

The Corrupted exploded as Lee Seng's arm extended fully outwards. Meat, guts, and blood rained around Lee Seng and Olivia, fully missing them. The walls and ceilings splattered with blood, leaving a tint of purple on them as Lee Seng pulled his arm back to his side.

Lee Seng let out a sigh as purple wisps fluttered out of the blood and guts. It seeped into Lee Seng, fading like his purple eyes. Red and blue eyes looked at Olivia. She was wincing in pain. The toxic energy she thought she could pull had a harsh effect on her.
"Are you okay?" Lee Seng asked. Olivia turned and looked at him. She looked worried like she didn't fully understand what was happening.
"I didn't think it would hurt me like that if I drained its energy…!" Olivia hissed. She looked at her arms. Parts of her arms were purple. Lee Seng's immediate response for help didn't help much. Lee Seng stepped over and looked at her arms.
"Can you walk?" Lee Seng asked. He stuck a hand out and Olivia looked at him. "I can't fully heal that, but I think I took out all of it. Manny will have to look at it."
