Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia Chapter 44
The group arrived at the CEO’s office on the 68th floor. The assistants split up and updated everything
in the office. They also placed all the essential documents on the desk.
At the same time, the notice the former chairman gave was like a bomb that exploded in the
corporation.
As they say, there tends to be more drama and gossip in places with more women. When they saw
Rachel’s stunningly gorgeous face, they jumped to conclusions and assumed she was just a pretty
“vase.”
“If I remember correctly, our chairman has the last name Johnson, right? What’s wrong with him? How
could he get someone with another last name to manage the company!?!”
“And this woman seems only about 22 or 23 years old. Isn’t that a little too young!?!”
“Do you guys think this woman and the chairman… has some unusual relationship?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“She might not be a Johnson, but she matters dearly to the chairman. I heard that she grew up
watching him negotiate. At 16, she made it into the royal business school, which is rare for anyone to
do. At 18, she was already a purchaser of drugs and medicine. Her life experiences are far more
interesting than we can imagine,” a woman said nonchalantly. “They say that people newly appointed
to positions of responsibility tend to make far–reaching changes. Instead of arguing with each other
here, why don’t you think about how to protect yourselves?”
After saying that, she turned around and left.
Everyone watched her leave before asking, “Who’s that woman just now? Which department is she
from?”
“I haven’t met her before. She’s probably an intern.”
Someone knocked on the door of the CEO’s office, and a cold female voice sounded. “Come in!”
The woman with the mug in her hand pushed the door and entered. “Ms. Grey, here’s your coffee.”
Hearing the familiar voice, Rachel slowly looked up, only to be stunned
when she saw the familiar face before her. “Linda Galler!?!”
Her eyes were filled with surprise and joy as she met her former close friend.
After the college entrance exams back then, Linda went abroad to pursue an education with the funds
provided by the Johnsons. She was away for several years and would call them occasionally.
Rachel thought that Linda had left for good and never expected that she would return to be by her side,
“Ms. Grey, it’s been a while.” Linda said smilingly, her eyes filled with the joy of meeting her close friend
again after years of being apart. However, she quickly adjusted her mood and said, “Ms. Grey, not all
the directors are present. Do we proceed with the meeting as usual?”
After giving it some thought for a second, Rachel said, “Get ready. The meeting shall begin in 10
minutes!”
About ten minutes later, Rachel entered the conference room together with Linda.
Apart from the senior executives of the various departments, there were only a few directors.
Everyone looked at each other in dismay before standing up and greeting Rachel respectfully, “Hello,
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMs. Grey!”
Rachel nodded slightly and said, “Since everyone is here, the meeting shall begin.”
During the meeting, the directors and Rachel got into a fierce debate to test Rachel’s capabilities.
Some of them even wanted to take the chance to suppress Rachel.
However, during their conversation later, Rachel used her sharp vision and shrewd foresight to point
out a few drawbacks.
Rachel was definitely up for what it takes to be the CEO.
Toward the end, the staff of the strategy department handed over a document. Linda cast the
spokesperson agreement on the large screen. Once the content was displayed on the big screen,
Olivia’s smile appeared immediately.
The person in charge got up and analyzed Olivia’s situation. “Olivia has
always had a good reputation, be it her development in the previous years abroad or after returning to
the US. Since we are launching a hot springs hotel, it is more inclined towards young people, and most
importantly, I heard that she is about to marry the CEO of the Smith Group real soon…”
