Chapter 999
Was that Chet? It seemed that there were others too!
Didn't he just visit a while ago? Did something happen?
Frederick grabbed his jacket and put it on swiftly. As soon as he was done buttoning up the jacket, the door to his
room was opened.
"Frederick..." A voice cfrom behind.
Frederick turned around, and saw that Chet, Noah, and Trevor were all there. Frederick could guess what was
happening. "Frederick, we're here to fetch you out!" They spoke with excitement. Noah showed him the
procedural documents, while Chet went forward to help him pack up.
Trevor went up to him and gave him a big hug emotionally.
"How did | get bailed out? We'll talk about this when we get out," Frederick said.
He hugged Trevor too, then he bent down and carried the puppy into his arms.
"You weren't released on bail, you were acquitted! You're no longer a suspect!" Noah said.
Hearing Noah's words, Frederick was taken aback. Was he acquitted even before being judged?
Seeing that there were outsiders around, Frederick didn't question about it. They each carried a bag, while
Frederick carried his puppy, and they walked out of the door together.
As soon as they were out of the room, a few men dressed in suits approached them. One of the men handed
over his ncard, and reached out for a handshake.
"Mr. Clements, I'm the person-in-charge here. | apologize for having to keep you here before! Please understand
our situation, as we're just obeying the law and instructions. If we've offended you, please forgive our mistakes!"
he said.
Chet took the ncard, while Frederick extended his arm to shake his hand, but he stopped halfway. "Mr.
McGowan, you're being too modest! | apologize, for my hand..."
Frederick showed his hands in front of him, and nodded to him as a gesture of greeting him. The man understood
right away that he meant that his hands were dirty, and retracted his hands without seeming a little unhappy.
"It's okay, Mr. Clements, we're just glad that you're not blaming us for it!" he said.

"Why would I, Mr. McGowan? You're being too polite. You were only enforcing the law, and we're lucky to have a
fair system. It is our responsibility to cooperate with you during investigations! You've done well!" Frederick said.
"Huh?" Mr. McGowan was astonished.
For a moment there, everyone at the scene was confused, and couldn't tell if Frederick was telling the truth or
being sarcastic. They stood there in a daze, and cold sweat appeared on their foreheads due to anxiousness. "I'd
like to thank you for givingspecial treatment as well. If there's nothing else, well be leaving now! Goodbye!"
Frederick said.
He strode away at once, and the others tried to catch up with him. "Mr... Mr. Clements!"
Suddenly, Frederick stopped walking, as if he had thought of something. Then, he turned around and gave the
men a glance.
"Oh, by the way, | have something else to tell you about. I'll be donating another 50 millions dollars to you this
year, to repay your kindness for looking after Cotter!" he said.
After that, Frederick walked right out of the door.
Meanwhile, the group of men stood in a daze, with puzzled expressions on their faces...
As soon as they arrived at the entrance, only then did the four of them stop walking. Noah said,
"| still have sprocedures to deal with, so | won't be leaving with you all! As for the case, you may leave the
rest of the matters to me. | guarantee you that they won't trouble you anymore! Callif you need anything!"
"All right, sure!" Frederick said.
After sending Noah off, Frederick then only shifted his gaze to Trevor.
"Trevor, ensure that this news makes its way to the headlines. Also, you'll have to make a trip to the artificial
intelligence research centre personally. The news that Championus Media and Coaver International's Al branch
will soon be listed has to be published on the newspaper at the stas well. They need to make the
headlines for at least three days. We mustn't let the attention it gets reduce!" Frederick instructed.
"Are you in such a hurry? Are you trying to spike the stocks that have dived back up?" Trevor asked.
Trevor gave it a thought, seemingly understood and asked, "Do we have to rush it? Weren't you the one who
refused to publicize the stocks of the artificial intelligence's investment?"
Besides, he was out of detention then, and the stocks were definitely going to pick up again.
Frederick explained, "I refused to publicize it earlier because the
technology wasn't matured yet. If we publicized it before that, the results
would've been affected by my detention too! Now is the perfect time, as the sales of the Al products have been
burgeoning! We'd have to make use of this timing and pioneer the market. Not only do we have to increase the
sales of the products, well have to speed up the listing of the branch as well. Of course, the most important thing
is to revive the stocks that have dipped as fast as possible. They have already dropped by a few hundred
millions, so we'd have to make up for it before it's too late! Go on, do as | say!"
"You must be desperate for money! No wonder you made Chet travel around so much! We were actually thinking
of holding a 'welcback’ dinner for you tonight!" Trevor said. "That's fine, we don't have to do it today. I'm
tired too. Well get together next time! By the way, Trevor..." he said.
Frederick pulled him aside, and whispered a few instructions in his ear.
"Don't worry, | understand! Rest well, I'll be leaving now!" Trevor said.
After Trevor left, Chet finally opened the car door and entered the car. Fredrick went into the car, and leaned his
stiff body against the seat as he twisted his neck, then breathed a sigh of relief.
As the car moved slowly, Chet handed his cell phone to Frederick. "Fredrick!"
"Yes? Have the matters all been settled? Were there any problems?" Frederick asked.
"They've all been settled! I've already bought most of the stocks with a low price. It had been a lot easier this
way than having to find different ways to acquire them one by one. However, Frederick, after these two weeks,
our stocks have dipped severely, and it's looking terrible..." Chet said.
If this happened to anyone else, they would have been thinking of committing suicide already!
Their losses were unusually disastrous! There were so many people out there who were taking the pleasure in
their misfortunes!
"This is nothing. If it can drop very quickly, then it can cback up very quickly as well! By the way, has there
been any unusual activity there?" he asked.
"Mr. Christian was so worried about you, and he sought help from many people. However, the case was in a
really bad shape, and it was on the news as well. Everyone knew about it, so it was hard for him to use any
special connections to help you. Of course, that family was beyond thrilled to hear the news, and they've sold
almost all of their stocks! This incident doesn't seem to be related to them. I've sent smen to follow them
for a few days, but they didn't notice anything strange. They were even cursing at people when they had to sell
their shares initially!" Chet answered.
"Oh? Then how did this happen? Was it really just my bad luck? Who is that woman? I've heard that she's
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmpregnant," Fredrick asked.
While speaking, Frederick entered the password on his cell phone and turned it on.
Chet answered, "Her identity is unknown. She's a young woman, round 25 to 30 years old. She was four months
pregnant, and she died due to asphyxiation. She was strangled to death, and her body was burned after that!
Speaking of that,
We have to thank Mr. Bow
Pet
girlfriend's friend, who is a forensic medical examiner. She extracted the DRA of the baby, and proved that it
wasn't related to you. She also found sspecial mud on the body and near the crscene. It was said to
contain spollen, and it didn't belong to the forest. That proved that the criminal probably only disposed the
body at the scene, and that the murder didn't happen there."
"Of course, the most important thing is her autopsy report. They confirmed the tof death of the woman
through analyzing the body, the remaining of scontents of her stomach, and her bones. She probably
passed away at least 48 hours before the day you were witnessed to be there. So, that
excluded the possibility that shaof you burning the body won
died on that day, and the accusation
no
longer valid. Besides, we were able to provide surveillance camera footages of you being at other places during
the tof murder, so you're no longer a suspect, and you were acquitted without needing to attend a hearing.
If it wasn't for the skills of the forensic medical examiner, we would probably still be looking everywhere for
missing
women from nightclubs or
mistresses of wealthy men!
However, it's still strange, as we
