Chapter 236
Stanley was totally stunned.
He just stood there in shock, his head spinning. “Are you serious? Rebecca is Jeffrey's lifesaver?”
“Of course!” lan shoved him out the door and slammed it shut. “Andrea’s scar is an exact copy of Becky's, unless
that scar has nothing to do with Jeffrey's savior.”
Becky personally went to Andrea herself and double-checked everything earlier this morning.
It's pretty much a done deal.
Stanley paused for a moment.
‘If Rebecca really is Jeffrey’s lifesaver, we're in deep trouble,’ Stanley thought, the realization landing like a ton of
bricks.
With this in mind, Stanley wasted no tbooking himself on the sflight as lan to Honnala. ‘Gotta fill Jeffrey
in before lan gets there and starts running his mouth. Otherwise, it's just going to make things a whole lot worse
for him,” he muttered to himself.
Meanwhile, things were happening on Rebecca's end.
She and Andrea were sitting together in a bar that was practically deserted.
Rebecca and Jessica originally just wanted to hang out and chill a bit before heading over to the hotel for the
party. But before they could get anywhere, Andrea tracked Rebecca down and told her to meet up here-no plus
ones allowed.
“So, what's the deal? Why'd you callhere?” Rebecca cut straight to the chase.
Andrea let out a mocking laugh. “This morning, you made up a whole story in your head. Hate to burst your
bubble, but you're not the one who saved Jeffrey.”
Rebecca didn’t even flinch. “So?”
Andrea practically spat out the words. “If you're going to be this uncooperative, then our deal’s off. You'll go your
whole life without ever knowing who she is.”
“You found Jeffrey because of that scar on your leg, right?” Rebecca said, her tone completely calm.
Andrea's expression froze.
‘She actually figured it out?’ Andrea thought, stunned and a little shaken.
“Dr. Cole's awake,” Rebecca continued, spelling it out. “He told us all about you visiting him.”
“No way!” Andrea snapped, her voice cracking with disbelief. She just couldn’t wrap her head around it, refusing
to accept what Rebecca was saying.

Chapter 236
“Believe it or not, you can text him right now and see for yourself, Rebecca raid, getting to her feet, clearly done
with the conversation. “And trust me, by now, Jeffrey’s already heard the whole story”
Andrea’s gaze sharpened, a flicker of panic in her eyes.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtRebecca glanced at her coolly. “Any idea what he does to people who try to play him?”
“Wait,” Andrea called out after Rebecca, her voice tinged with desperation as she tried to trade any secret that
might save herself. “Aren’t you even a little curious how | managed to trick Jeffrey?”
Rebecca replied, her tone icy and uninterested. “Don’t care.
Cto think of it, Andrea’s little scam wasn’t exactly without a trail, Rebecca mused.
The only ones who knew about this were my parents and Jessica. If Andrea ever caught wind of it, the only
chance she had must've been back in college, probably overhearing a call betweenand Jessica, she figured.
That weekend, when | found the dorm empty, Jessica suddenly got inspired and wanted schildhood stories
for her script. So | just told her the general gist of what happened,” Rebecca recalled.
Looking back now, Andrea must've been in the dorm that day,” Rebecca realized.
‘Yeah, she must've been there,’ Rebecca thought, the pieces finally clicking into place.
Other than that one time, she'd never shared any of the details with anyone, ever.
“There's no way | could've fooled Jeffrey all by myself,” Andrea pressed, trying to find sleverage. “Don’t you
want to know who tippedoff that the guy you saved was him?”
“Stephen,” Rebecca shot back without missing a beat.
Andrea stumbled, her face going pale.
‘How could she possibly know that?’ Andrea thought, her mind reeling.
Rebecca didn’t bother with a response. She just grabbed her bag and headed for the door.
She hadn’t even taken two steps before two big bodyguards blocked her path. She turned around, only to find
two more behind her.
“I'm not exactly thrilled to do this,” Andrea said through gritted teeth, standing squarely between her
bodyguards. “But you just had to dig up everything and dump it all in front of Jeffrey.”
“What exactly are you trying to do?” Rebecca asked, her expression completely unbothered.
The more calm and collected Rebecca looked, the more it got under Andrea’s skin.
Andrea's frustration boiled over. “You know what pissesoff the most? It’s that stupid calm face of yours!”
Rebecca figured Andrea had a serious screw loose.

Chapter 236
‘Honestly, she’s nuts, Rebecca thought, fighting the urge to roll her eyes.
A
“You're completely powerless right now, and you're still putting on that unbothered Ms. Jensen act?” Andrea
yelled, her voice ringing out. “Did you forget how pathetic and terrified you looked back in the equipment
room?”
Rebecca's face remained utterly impassive. She looked at Andrea with the scold indifference you'd give a
clown.
That look set Andrea off like nothing else. The thing she hated most was being treated like she was nothing- why
did Rebecca get to be born with everything, adored by everyone and Jeffrey's favorite, while she herself was
stuck living sshadowy life, always hidden away from the light?
Why her? Why not me?!
“Tie her up,” Andrea barked at the bodyguards. “Lock her in the storage room out back.”
“You know this is illegal, right?” Rebecca said, her voice cool and steady.
“I'm already screwed, so what do | care about breaking the law?” Andrea sneered, her eyes wild. “Either you call
Jeffrey right now and make him swear he’ll never holdresponsible and protectfor life-or I'll have these
four guys destroy you.”
Rebecca was as calm as ever, not a hint of fear in her eyes.
Not for no reason, though.
Her bodyguard, Mark Mason, had quietly slipped in behind the scene.
“Make your choice,” Andrea snapped, completely losing it.
Rebecca didn’t even bother with her and headed for the door, but when the two bodyguards blocked her, she
shot a look toward the corner. “Mark, if you don’t step up soon, I'm calling the cops myself. And if that happens,
this won't go on your record.”
“Yes it will,” Mark burst out, face dead serious. “This one’s going on my record.”
Andrea’s brows furrowed in annoyance.
‘How did he get in here?’ Andrea thought, her mind whirling.
‘I paid the bar owner good money to keep everyone out but Rebecca. So how did anyone else manage to sneak
in?’ she wondered, her irritation starting to turn into panic.
“You sure you can take them?” Rebecca eyed Mark's skinny build, half teasing, half worried. “If not, I'm totally
dialing 911.”
“Wow, thanks for the vote of confidence,” Mark replied, his usual poker face turning dead serious. “Forget four -
giveten and I'll clear them out before you blink.”
Rebecca blinked, momentarily lost for words.

Chapter 286
Honestly, when Mark starts showing off he out brage all of us put together, Rebecca thought, nearly rolling
her evek.
Mark calmly shrugged off his suit jacket and handed it to Rebecca, his voice almost too polite “Would you mind
holding this for me? Try not to get any dust on it—it’s expensive”
Rebecca:
The four bodyguards: “..."
Andrea: “...”
Andrea finally snapped to attention, irritation flashing across her face as she watched Mark and Rebecca chat
like she didn’t even exist. “Hello? What the hell are you two doing? Am | just furniture to you or what?”
Thud!
Andrea didn’t even finish her sentence before Mark nailed one of the bodyguards with a kick, dropping him flat
on the floor.
The other three finally snapped to attention and charged at him, but Mark just grabbed one by the wrist. swung
him around with a grunt, and smashed him straight onto a table.
Crash!
The whole table flipped over, hitting the ground with a thunderous clatter.
Rebecca's grip on the jacket tightened without her even realizing it.
‘Wow... Is Mark always this impressive?’ Rebecca wondered, quietly amazed.
“Hold up!” The two guys who hadn't been beaten yet threw up their hands fast. “We're out-no more fighting,
man!”
“Con, | paid you!” Andrea shouted, sounding desperate. If Rebecca walked out now, she’d lose every bit of
leverage. “What happened to sticking to the deal?”
“Lady, you paid us just to snatch a woman,” one of the bodyguards argued back, throwing a wary glance at his
buddies still moaning on the ground. “Nobody said anything about putting our lives on the line!”
