Chapter 122
Nolan's father froze momentarily before taking the document. As he read through
it, his face gradually turned ashen. His fingers trembled slightly, his eyes filled with disbelief" This... how is this
possible?"
Evangeline leaned over to look and instantly turned deathly pale.
She swayed unsteadily, nearly losing her balance.
Inside the emergency room, Nolan's consciousness hovered between life and death.
His mind was flooded with images of Aurelia-
She stood in a white sundress, bathed in sunlight, her smile radiant as a flower; she nestled in his arms, her
voice soft as honey; she looked at him through the prison's glass partition, her eyes filled with despair and
loneliness...
"Aurelia..." His voice was barely audible as tears slid down his cheeks, soaking the pillowcase.
He couldn't believe she was dead, couldn't accept that his years of hatred toward her had been nothing but a
cruel joke.
From beginning to end, Aurelia had been protecting him, loving him in her own way. She hadn't lied-he truly was

Yet it was him, had pushed her into the abyss with his own hands.
The emergency treatment continued for twenty-four hours. Several times Nolan approached death, only to be
dragged back by the doctors' desperate efforts. When he finally regained consciousness, only his assistant
remained in the room. Red-eyed, the assistant spoke hoarsely "Sir, you finally pulled through..."
Nolan's gaze drifted to the window, where sunlight filtered through the curtains, though it couldn't penetrate the
darkness in his heart.
His voice was weak but resolute "Booka flight to Tibet."
The assistant lowered his head, his voice breaking"Sir, following Miss Thorne's final wishes, her sky burial has
already been performed. The burial master said her soul was pure and would surely ascend to heaven. Besides,
you're too weak right now—even if you went, what good would it do?"
A flash of pain crossed Nolan's eyes as he closed them, tears falling silently. Yet he insisted"Booka flight to
Tibet!"
One day later.
Nolan stood in the study of the Creed mansion. Sunlight filtered through the heavy curtains but couldn't brighten
the darkness in his eyes.
His father sat behind the desk, pale-faced, fingers trembling slightly, his voice weary and pained"Nolan, know
you're hurting, but death is final.. Aurelia is gone. No matter
ud
what you do, she won'tck."
Nolan's gaze fixed on the window, his voice calm but unyielding"I'm going to Tibet."
His father's brow furrowed deeply, his voice filled with helpless anguish Tibet is a harsh
environment. Your body hasn't. recovered. How can you possibly go? Aurelia knew you were torturing yourself
like this, she wouldn't rest in peace."
Nolan still didn't look back, his voice cold "I'm going to Tibet."
His father's fists clenched tightly, knuckles white with strain. His voice cracked"Nolan, | know you're suffering,
but you can't do this... you can't destroy yourself for someone who's already gone!"
Nolan finally turned around, his gaze icy and penetrating"I'm going to Tibet."
His father was silenced by that look, his mouth opening and closing without producing words.
The atmosphere in the study was suffocating, permeated by an invisible sadness.
Just then, the door opened softly as Evangeline entered. Her face was so pale it seemed almost transparent, her
eyes carrying exhaustion and pain.

She glanced at Nolan, then at his father, her voice gentle but firm "Uncle Creed, please let him go."
Nolan's father started, his brow furrowing "Evangeline..."
Evangeline lowered her head, her voice catching "I understand that Aurelia's
death has devastated Nolan. He needs tto accept it, to face it. Please let him go, otherwise... he'll never
move on."
His father's expression shifted several times before he finally heaved a heavy sigh, waving his hand "Fine, Go
ahead!"
Evangeline stepped up to Nolan,
looking directly into his eyes with a
tangle of emotions on her face. "Nolan, just... tell her I'm sorry, okay? What she did for me-I'll carry t that debt
my whole life. I've been giving blood at the donation center all week. I'm gonna keep doing it. Helping save lives
like she saved
mine... it's all I can do to make this
right."
Nolan's gaze remained cold, as if he hadn't heard her words. He turned and left
the study, his silhouette resolute and solitary.
