#88 “Sophia has been Arrested in London.”
Police cars quickly surrounded the building, their red and blue lights flashing in a disorienting rhythm. The commotion outside left
Sophia and Alexander in a state of heightened tension, their eyes straining to get a better view of the approaching scene.
“We have to get out of here,” Alexander urged, grabbing Sophia’s hand as she continued to peer out the window. Sophia turned
to him, her voice a hushed murmur. “It’s no use.”
Perplexed, Alexander’s brow furrowed. “Why do you say that? Don’t give up.”
Sophia responded with a bitter laugh. ” I’m not giving up. But think about it. How long before they find our fingerprints and realize
we were here? You, Alexander Stone, can’t hide in plain sight, and I’m a lawyer. If we run, it’ll look like we have something to
hide, which we don’t. We need to stay and tell the truth.”
Alexander gazed at her with a mix of admiration and surprise, appreciating her quick and analytical thinking.
“Alright, we stay. So, what’s our story when the police arrive?” he inquired.
“The truth,” Sophia replied, locking her gaze with his. But their conversation was abruptly interrupted when a team of police
officers violently breached the front door of the room. Reacting swiftly, Sophia discarded the gun, ensuring it hit the ground
before they noticed her.
“Police!” they announced, their voices authoritative and demanding. “Raise your hands and step forward slowly.”
Alexander moved in front of Sophia, attempting to shield her from the officers’ immediate line of sight. He squeezed her hand in
an attempt to give her courage before moving on. One of the policemen began to speak, ” We received a murder report at this
address...”
But his voice trailed off as they spotted the lifeless body sprawled on the bed.
“Secure them!” he barked at his fellow officers. The two of them were swiftly handcuffed, their hands immobilized behind their
backs.
“You have the right to remain silent,” the policeman began, reciting their rights. Sophia finished the sentence for him, her voice
steady and familiar with the process. “Or anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.”

Megan sat in her lavishly decorated office, overlooking the city below through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The panoramic view
of the sprawling metropolis never failed to remind her of the immense power and influence she had amassed.
She was in the midst of a meticulously crafted plan, a plan that she believed would finally remove Sophia from the picture, once
and for all.
As she stared out at the cityscape, her phone rang, and she picked it up with an air of authority. It was one of her trusted
subordinates, someone who knew the ins and outs of her intricate schemes.
“Megan, I have news for you,” the subordinate spoke, a hint of excitement in their voice. “Sophia has been arrested in London.”
A slow, triumphant smile crept across Megan’s face. It seemed that her carefully laid trap had indeed ensnared its target. “Go
on,” she replied, feigning a calm interest.
The subordinate continued, “But there’s more. Alexander Stone is also in London. He accompanied Sophia to the police station,
though his involvement doesn’t seem significant, and he’s expected to be released soon.”
Megan’s satisfaction grew as the subordinate’s words unfolded. Her plan was working better than she could have hoped. Her
intention had always been to drive a wedge between Sophia and Alexander, and it appeared to be happening before her very
eyes.
She believed that, during Sophia’s imprisonment, she would not only lose her freedom but also suffer a tarnished reputation. And
as for Alexander, he would be ripe for the taking.
Smirking victoriously, Megan responded, “Excellent. Make sure the headlines tomorrow scream about Sophia committing
murder. I want her to spend her life in prison, and her reputation in ruins.” Her voice held a chilling resolve as she plotted
Sophia’s downfall, convinced that this was the turning point she had been waiting for.
Megan hoped this was her moment to make Alexander fall in love with her, and she wasn’t going to miss it for the world. Now
that Sophia was out of the game, Alexander was all hers.
*
After a grueling night at the police station, Alexander was mentally and physically drained. His tired eyes bore the weight of
exhaustion, and he felt a nagging sense of fear and worry gnawing at the edges of his consciousness. Sophia’s situation was
dire, and he couldn’t help but fret about her well-being.

Upon his release, Alexander wasted no time in seeking the services of the best criminal lawyer London had to offer. He was
determined to do everything in his power to aid Sophia. The lawyer, a sharp and experienced professional, made immediate
contact with the police and arranged to meet with Sophia.
The lawyer, a stern yet reassuring figure, sat across from Alexander in a dimly lit office. Their face was a mask of
professionalism as they began to lay out the details of Sophia’s predicament. The room was charged with tension as they spoke,
and Alexander’s anxiety only grew as he absorbed the gravity of the situation.
“The situation is rather grim,” the lawyer stated plainly, their voice cutting through the heavy atmosphere. “A substantial amount
of evidence points to Ms. Johnson as a primary suspect in this case. Her presence at the crime scene and several other factors
have put her in a precarious position.”
Alexander clenched his fists under the table, his heart racing. “What kind of evidence are we talking about?”
The lawyer sighed, clearly aware of the immense pressure bearing down on Alexander. “First and foremost, there are no security
cameras records or witnesses who saw her enter the building with anyone else. Additionally, her fingerprints were found on the
gun used to shoot the victim, which makes it highly likely that she fired the shot. And also they find drugs in the pockets of the
victim.”
Alexander’s jaw tightened as he listened, the weight of the evidence stacking against Sophia feeling almost unbearable. He
asked the question that had been gnawing at him since the ordeal began, “What about the drugs found on the victim? How does
that tie into this?”
The lawyer leaned forward, their tone grave. “The discovery of drugs in the victim’s pocket raises suspicion of involvement in
drug trafficking. It complicates matters further, and the authorities are looking into whether Sophia might have had any
connection to this aspect of the victim’s life.”
A wave of panic threatened to overtake Alexander, but he fought to keep it at bay. He had to be strong for Sophia, who was now
in the eye of this legal storm. Suppressing his unease, he inquired about Sophia’s condition with bated breath. “And how is
Sophia holding up through all of this?”
The lawyer paused for a moment, carefully choosing their words. “She’s surprisingly composed, given the circumstances. She’s
maintaining her innocence and cooperating with the authorities. We’re doing everything we can to secure her rights and establish
a strong defense. But it’s crucial to understand, Mr. Stone, that this is a challenging case.”.

Alexander nodded, his mind racing with thoughts of what lay ahead. The battle to clear Sophia’s name would be arduous, but he
was resolute in his determination to see her through it. Despite the looming uncertainty, his love for Sophia remained
unwavering, and he was prepared to do whatever it took to prove her innocence.
