Nathan instinctively reached out and carriedon his back, smiling brightly. He gently told the excited golden
retriever wagging its tail, “Goldie, don’t scare Victoria. Sit down.”
The dog, named Goldie, obediently sat on the floor, happily gazing at Nathan with its nose still sniffing around
him.
“Did you cup with Goldie’s name?” | asked with a smile.
Nathan nodded. “Yeah. | was thinking of other names, but nothing sounded better, so | just got used to calling
him that.”
“I didn’t know you believed in names bringing good luck,” | chuckled.
“Why wouldn't I?” Nathan suddenly tosseda bit higher on his back, and my chest landed against him,
making his mood even better.
| clenched my fist and punched him lightly. “You did that on purpose.”
Nathan walked toward the living room withon his back while Goldie happily followed behind.

The housekeeper had already gathered her things from upstairs, said her goodbyes, and left.
| looked around the small villa. With the housekeeper’s care, it felt cozy. The living room wasn’t big but had a
nice layout.
When Nathan putdown, Goldie immediately started circling around me. | actually liked animals. Back in my
previous life, | took care of the pets Yvonne bought. | even raised a puppy.
| reached out to pat Goldie’s head, and he immediately squinted his eyes, enjoying the attention.
“Goldie’s really smart. If he knows I like you, he'll definitely stick with his owner,” Nathan said, smiling as he
seemed eager forand Goldie to bond quickly.
Nathan went to brew a cup of tea and brought it to me, saying, “You had salcohol earlier, so this tea helps
with that. Have a cup.”
“Sure!” | replied lazily, sinking into the couch. | felt like | was enjoying a single, free life now, and it felt great.
No wonder so many young people prefer not to get married and just enjoy dating. The tspent in love is really
beautiful.
Nathan looked atand suddenly said, “I'll grab something from the car.”
“What is it?” | casually asked.
Nathan gavea mysterious smile without answering and turned to head out, with Goldie immediately
following him.
| looked up at the crystal chandelier hanging down from the third floor; it looked dreamy and illuminated the
whole place.
When Nathan returned, he placed a small box on the coffee table. The next second, Goldie opened his mouth
and grabbed it.
“Hey, Goldie! Give that back.” Nathan immediately dashed after him.
Goldie thought he was playing and happily ran outside into the yard.
| almost burst out laughing as Nathan tried to wrestle a box of condoms away from the dog’s mouth,
Goldie’s round body wobbled as he cback slowly with the box, spitting it out on the floor and looking for
praise.
Nathan put his hands on his hips, unable to stay mad, and when he turned around to seelaughing, his
handsface turned bright red.
“Next time, don’t chew on random things.” Nathan patted Goldie’s little head, reminding him.

Goldie immediately rolled over in place twice. | was not sure if he understood or not.
Nathan walked into the living room, holding the small box, and awkwardly said, “Goldie is definitely quite the
troublemaker.”
| smiled and asked, “Why do you carry that around with you?”
Nathan instantly tensed up and clarified. “I don’t. | bought it last tand left it in the car.”
“Do you really think you'll need that much?” | teased, noticing his face turning red.
