Chapter 103
“Megan, how are you feeling lately?” Yolanda asked.

She couldn't help but wonder if Greg had really stopped causing trouble. Guys like him don’t change overnight.
But now that Megan was pregnant-and with hormones in the mix-she was even more glued to him than before.
Megan was quiet for a few seconds before she replied, sounding totally content. “He’s been hwith me. every
day. Is the stugiving you any trouble?”
“Not really. lan isn’t blowing up yet, so it's not like there's a ton happening. Charles handedStarlight
Entertainment, so I'll go over and take charge when | get the chance. Is Greg with you right now?”
“Nope, he went out to getstofu pudding. I just suddenly had a craving for it.”
“Okay, just make sure to look after yourself. By the tyour baby comes, I'm sure our stuwill be running like
clockwork,” Yolanda said.
Starlight Entertainment might not be much in the eyes of the Sinclair Group, but in the entertainment scene, it
was far from a nobody. Back in the day, they helped turn unknowns into movie kings and queens. But over the
past five years, the
company’s luck had completely tanked-no fresh talent, no rising stars, just fading glory. These days, the only
buzz was the gossip floating around about how Starlight survived by slapping outrageous breach-of-contract
fees on rookie talent. They'd bait naive newcomers into signing, squeeze every drop out of them, and if anyone
dared push back, those mind-boggling fees would snap their backbone in an
instant.
After hanging up, Yolanda decided to head to the hospital to bring William back to the orphanage. His health was
slowly improving, but staying at the hospital while worrying about the kids was actually slowing down his
recovery.
She drove into the parking lot, but before she could even get out of her car, she spotted a man wearing a mask
lurking nearby, looking suspicious.
The last argument she'd had with Greg was still fresh in her mind. She was almost sure it was him.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHer heart tightened. There was no way Greg showing up here was just a coincidence-he was probably waiting on
purpose.
She lowered her lashes, and as a thought crossed her mind, a cold glint flashed in her eyes.
Greg was still lurking, scoping out the parking lot with that sketchy, stakeout vibe, when-wham!-something
slammed into the back of his head. Blackness crashed over him, and he dropped flat, unconscious.
When he finally caround, the reek of gasoline filled his nostrils. He glanced down in panic-he was drenched
in the stuff.
Yolanda was standing right beside him, gripping his lighter tight.
Greg's pupils contracted in raw terror. He reflexively parted his lips for a scream, but before any sound escaped,
Yolanda’s voice cut in cold: “You so much as make a noise, I'll set you on fire.”

The lighter flicked on with a snap, and a tiny flsprang to life, hovering dangerously close to his gasoline-
soaked clothes.
His face turned ghostly pale, and he trembled, not daring to utter a single word.
The wound on his head was still throbbing, but he kept his mouth shut, not daring to say anything that might
piss Yolanda off. He swallowed nervously, worried that flwould cfor him at any moment.
Yolanda stared him down. “Greg, I'm going to ask, you answer. If Megan hadn't beggedlast time, | swear you
wouldn't be standing here now. This is your final warning.”
Greg's reply was barely more than a breath, afraid even a hint of loudness would piss her off.
Yolanda was even crazier than those loan sharks. He was genuinely scared stiff.
“Who put you up to coming afterlast time?” Yolanda’s voice was cold.
Greg's lips quivered. For a second, he thought about sticking to his denial-but then he saw her chilling smile.
“How much are you into those people for? I'll bail you out, but don’t kid yourself. If they set you up once, they'll
do it again. I'll pay for you this time, but next time? You think you're gonna get a second chance, but from the
beginning, you were just their prey. To them, you're beneath notice-just a disposable pawn to mess with me.”
Yolanda flicked the lighter in her hand, her eyes steady as ice. “Megan’s carrying your baby. | called her just
now-she said you went out for tofu pudding. She keeps reminiscing about how good you used to be. Makes me
wonder: how does someone who was once so decent turn into this? Was it gambling that ruined you, or were you
always this kind of person and just kept your real self hidden all along?”
Greg started struggling, shouting, “What the hell would you know?! Maybe I'm trash to Megan now, but | was
genuine as hell before! If I'm lying, let lightning strike me! Who the hell are you to erase my past—who hasn't
been proud, or naive, once in their life?!”
His cheeks burned with humiliation. He'd taken plenty of shas a gambler, but somehow, right now, it stung
worse than ever.
Yolanda slapped him-twice, sharp and loud. “If | hadn't tied you up today, letguess-you were gonna do the
sto me, pull the ssick stunt you tried last time?”
Greg bit back his words, jaw clenched, eyes burning red. “Just you wait!”
Smack! Another slap, echoing through the room.
Yolanda sneered, “You only know how to bully women. If anything happens to Megan one day, it'll be all on you-
you'll be the one who ruins her.”
She kicked the chair over with a crash and stomped her foot hard on his chest, holding him down.
Greg started out yelling a couple of times, but soon he just curled up, shivering and barely making a sound.
His resistance all but vanished, and he stayed silent, just hunched over, not daring to speak.

Yolanda lost her patience. “Spit it out-who put you up to coming after me?”

“Say it!” Yolanda snapped.
“Boss Sheng... | heard them call him that on the phone. | still owe them three million. Don’t let Megan find out...”
Greg finally muttered.
“Card number,” Yolanda demanded.
She sent the money right away. “This is the last shot you're ever getting. If there's even a shred of decency left
in you, think about your kid. If not, Ill make sure you vanish from Megan's life-and your kid will grow up calling
someone else ‘dad.”
Greg curled up on the ground, jaw locked in silence, trembling uncontrollably.
Yolanda walked out, not bothering to check his restraints. She hadn't tied them tight-he’d be able to get free
after a bit of squirming.
She went upstairs to sign William out of the hospital, only to see an incoming call from May on her phone. May
was probably calling about Renee Sinclair. Who knows what kind of trouble she was getting into back at the
Sinclair mansion-endless scolding and, most likely, another round of getting forced to kneel as punishment.
Yolanda was just over it. She used to bend over backwards for the Sinclair family because she was into Charles,
but now she couldn't care less, so why keep letting them walk all over her?
She set her phone to mute. If anyone asked, she'd just shrug and say she never even heard it.
