Chapter 235: I'm Leaving Now, No Need for Him to Banish Me
(Elena Blackwood’s POV)
Late at night, when the gathering dispersed, it suddenly started raining. The medical staff stood under the eaves
waiting for their vehicles, departing one after another.
Soon, only two or three werewolves remained at the venue. The rain drummed steadily against the courtyard’s
stone pathways, creating small rivers that wound between the outdoor tables.
After the other doctors left, only Hugo and | remained. Dr. Edmund Fisher's driver arrived, and he bid farewell to
Hugo with a cheerful wave.
“Drive Elena hsafely,” he called out, reminding Hugo as he hurried toward his waiting car.
Hugo turned to me, his scholarly features thoughtful in the dim light. He seemed to sense my unspoken thoughts
and asked, “Do you want to asksomething?”
After hesitating, | finally voiced the question that had been haunting me. “Have you ever been kidn*pped as a
child?”
Instead of answering directly, Hugo asked, “Did Marcus tell you something?”
My silence confirmed his suspicion. He nodded slowly, understanding passing across his refined features.
“I thought you would remember it yourself,” he said quietly.
| was surprised by his response. “Is that really you?”
My heart hammered against my ribs as the pieces began falling into place.
“But the news only announced...” | started.
“Only announced that there were two survivors,” Hugo finished forwith a gentle smile.
He explained calmly, his voice carrying the weight of old family secrets. “My family cared about their reputation
and chose not to make it public.”
“The Ashworth family’s young heir being kidn*pped,” he continued, “it sounds a bit unpleasant when it spreads
through the packs.”
| looked at Hugo, unsure of what to say. The rain made the night even colder, the dampness

My enhanced hearing picked up every droplet hitting the leaves, every distant rumble of
thunder.
Noticingrubbing my arms against the chill, Hugo took off his trench coat and draped it over my shoulders. |
was stunned by the gesture.
| did not dislike Hugo's actions. He was not an impetuous Alpha and knew how to maintain a proper distance
without makinguncomfortable.
“Remember to wash the coat and return it to me,” he said with a smile. “After all, | borrowed
this coat.”
| looked down at the feminine cut of the coat | was wearing. Something felt familiar about the fabric, the scent
clinging to it.
“This is Marcus's coat?” | asked, confusion evident in my voice. “When did you borrow it?”
Hugo replied simply, “Before leaving.”
As | was about to respond, | caught a familiar scent on the rain-soaked air. My wolf stirred restlessly, recognizing
the Alpha’s presence before my eyes did.
Turning my head, | saw Marcus standing under an umbrella in the rain. His tall Alpha figure had been there for a
long time, as if he had merged with the night.
He seemed to have been standing in the rain for a long time, and seemed to have been watching for a long time.
So long that the night could hardly cover his face.
My eyes met Marcus's dark gaze, and my chest trembled. My wolf stirred anxiously within me, responding to the
territorial tension radiating from my mate.
Hugo looked at me, his own wolf sensing the electric atmosphere between the mated pair. The air crackled with
unspoken emotions and pack dynamics.
After a few minutes of tense silence, Marcus looked away and returned to his vehicle. | watched the car drive
away, my fingers tightening around the coat.
The scent of another Alpha clung to my skin, and | knew Marcus had noticed.
| returned to Moonhaven Estate with a heavy heart. The lights in the Great Hall were still on, but Amber Stone,
not Marcus, was waiting for me.
“Luna,” Amber said, her professional demeanor slightly strained.
“Alpha Marcus has something he wantsto tell you.” She hesitated for a long time, clearly

uncomfortable with her message.
| looked at her expectantly. “What is it?”
Amber said euphemistically, “You don’t need to accompany Alpha Marcus for his healing treatments anymore.”
She conveyed carefully, “He will explain to you where you want to go.”
| pursed my lips and laughed bitterly. “He should have said that sooner, as if | wanted to... stay.”
Amber's eyelids lowered. “Luna, honestly, do you really not want to stay?”
| glanced towards Marcus's Alpha’s Private Chamber and deliberately said loudly, “I'm moving out now, no need
for him to banish me.”
My voice carried through the estate, ensuring he would hear every word.
| strode towards the Master Suite to pack my belongings. Amber followed anxiously behind
me.
“Luna, it's too late now!” she protested.
| replied firmly, “Hugo will cto pickup, what does it matter if it's late.”
Amber becnervous, clearly thinking that | had completely stepped on the Alpha’s
territorial instincts. As | pulled my luggage out, Marcus didn’t emerge from the Alpha’s Private Chamber.
| slammed the door shut and left, my wolf howling silently within me.
