Chapter 180: He Has Severe Disease

Chapter 180: He Has Severe Disease

(God's POV)

Margaret Blackwood closed her eyes deeply, turning the moonstone prayer beads in her hand. The smooth

stones clicked softly against each other as she contemplated the impossible choice before her.

Her great-grandson’s life hung in the balance. Yet the Luna she had grown to favor was slipping away from their

family with each passing day.

The weight of generations pressed down on her shoulders. The Blackwood legacy demanded sacrifice, but at

what cost?

She opened her eyes slowly, her decision made. Silence would be her answer. Sometimes the greatest

wisdom lay in knowing when not to act.

Her fingers stilled on the prayer beads. She would acquiesce to whatever fate had planned for Marcus and

Elena.

(Elena Blackwood’s POV)

The next day, Adrian Whitmore sawoff at Moonfall International Airport. The morning air was crisp as

Jacob Hayes unloaded my luggage from the car.

Adrian called out from the driver's seat, his voice carrying concern. “Elena, Sophia Rivers is still in Riverside

City. Are you sure you don’t wantto send someone with you?”

| shook my head firmly. “Brother, I'm not a child. | can handle myself.”

My hand flew to my forehead as | suddenly remembered. “Oh no, | completely forgot about Deputy Minister

Harrison's wife's birthday banquet!”

Adrian waved dismissively. “Don’t worry about it! I'll take care of the gift. They understand you had to return

to the Northern Territory for family matters.”

Relief flooded through me. “Thank you so much. You should head back now.”

He nodded and drove away, leavingalone with my thoughts and luggage.

As | prepared to enter the airport terminal, several black-suited Elite Guards suddenly blocked my path. Their

presence was intimidating and unexpected.

Amber Stone emerged from behind them, her expression serious. “Luna, the Alpha Alexander requests your

presence.”

| frowned in confusion. “Alexander Blackwood? What could he possibly want with me?”

Amber's eyes flickered with something | couldn't identify. “I’m sorry, but | cannot disclose the details here.*

| stepped back, my voice growing firm. “Blackwood family matters are no longer my concern. | have a flight to

catch.”

The guards moved closer, effectively trapping me. Amber's professional mask slipped slightly, revealing

desperation underneath. /

“Please, Luna. I'm acting on direct orders. This concerns Marcus Blackwood’s life.

Her words hitlike a physical blow. Despite everything between Marcus and me, the thought of him in mortal

danger made my chest tighten.

| stared at Amber's pleading expression, realizing the futility of resistance. These guards wouldn't letleave

regardless of my protests.

“Fine,” | said through gritted teeth. “But I'm changing my ticket, not canceling it.”

Relief washed over Amber's features. “Of course, Luna. Whatever you need.”

As we drove through the Northern Territory, | noticed we weren't heading toward the Blackwood Ancestral Manor.

The familiar landmarks were wrong.

“Where are we going?” | demanded, suspicion creeping into my voice.

Amber kept her eyes on the road. “Shadowmere Private Healing Sanctuary.”

My blood ran cold. A healing sanctuary meant serious medical issues. What was Marcus hiding from me?

Upon arriving at the medical center, the guards immediately seized my luggage. | watched them carry it inside

with growing alarm.

“What's going on, Amber? Why are you taking my things?”

She turned to face me, her expression grave. “Marcus needs you to stay in the Northern Territory temporarily.

Before his silver purification treatment.”

The words hitlike lightning. Silver purification was one of the most dangerous procedures a werewolf

could undergo.

“Silver purification?” | whispered, my voice barely audible. “That's for fatal silver infection. The pain alone could

kill him.”

Amber nodded solemnly. “After the car accident, Marcus developed a persistent cough and chest pain. The

doctors diagnosed deep-seated silver infection.”/

My mind raced back to our recent encounter in the car. His harsh cough, the handkerchief he'd hidden from

me.

“Initially, he refused surgery and opted for medication,” Amber continued. “But his condition worsened. The

infection has caused fatal lung lesions.”

The world seemed to tilt around me. Marcus was dying, and he’d been hiding it from everyone.

“Was he coughing up blood?” | asked, my voice hollow.

Amber's silence was answer enough. The handkerchief I'd seen stained with darkness suddenly made terrible

sense.

“Marcus refused to undergo silver/purification,” she explained. “Alexander Blackwood had no choice but to bring

you here. You're the only one who might convince him to accept treatment.”

The weight of responsibility crashed down on me. Marcus's life was literally in my hands, whether | wanted it

there or not.
