Chapter 275:
Kristopher, seated beside her, elegantly manipulated his phone, his long fingers swiftly dialing numbers. He
called his assistant Marc, the president of Nawrin University, and finally, the university's security department.
In the brief drive from the hospital to Nawrin University, Kristopher, with just a few calls and a glance at his
mobile, orchestrated a simple but effective plan. He managed to have the security office clear the vans parked
beneath Fred's dormitory.
“Is this your solution?” Belinda asked as they paused at a red light, turning to look at Kristopher. “You said not to
alarm the police, and | assumed you had a more elaborate plan. So, it was merely about involving the
university's security?”
Kristopher, still fiddling with his phone, responded nonchalantly, “Though simple, it's effective.”
Belinda snorted dismissively. “I could have done that too.”
“Are you sure?” Kristopher raised an eyebrow, challenging her. “Do you also have connections with the president
of Nawrin University, able to compel him to mobilize the security department for you at this hour?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBelinda’s anger dissipated completely with Kristopher’s words. She realized, with painful clarity, how little
influence she had. If she had possessed the power she wished for, her initial response to Fred's distress wouldn't
have been to involve the police.
“Those cars had been parked under the dormitory building for so long, and it’s no surprise the students noticed,
prompting security to chase them away,” Kristopher remarked, noticing her silence. He shifted in his seat to find
a more comfortable position, his attention drifting to the passing traffic. “No one will connect this incident to
Fred, and he'll avoid any repercussions. This outcis far better than if you had intervened yourself.” He
glanced at her briefly after his comment. “Don’t worry. Your sacrifice won't go in vain.”
When Kristopher had first presented his conditions, Belinda had remained calm, her mind fully focused on Fred's
safety. Now, however, in the dim, uncertain light of the car, his deep voice, offering reassurance, made her ears
warm with a blush. The darkness inside the vehicle kept her reaction hidden from his view.
Soon enough, they arrived at the male dormitory of Nawrin University. Throughout the drive, Belinda’s phone
had been buzzing incessantly, but she had ignored it, focusing on the road as it was late at night. Once they
parked, she quickly checked her phone.
It was a message from Fred. “Belinda, are you the one helping? | saw from the stairwell that those vans have left.
Thank you!”

“But Danilo just texted me. He said the men in black who were looking forare still inside the dorm. They
didn’t leave with the vans.”
“Sare stationed at my dorm room door, others at the entrance, and the rest are combing through each
floor...”
“When can you arrive? | certainly can’t go back to my dorm tonight. | have nowhere else to go, and it's so
cold...”
The last message cwith a request to share his location.
Belinda inhaled deeply, accepted the location share, and quickly replied, “I'm already here. I'll find you soon!”
Fred's response cback, jittery with relief. “Belinda! | knew you wouldn't abandon me! I'm hiding in the
corridor between the fifth and sixth floors!”
Belinda could almost picture Fred's relieved expression as she read his message. She shook her head softly and
sighed. “Wait for us.”
