Chapter 251:
Meanwhile, Belinda scanned the area, spotting more ribbons that echoed the sbirthday wishes. She raised
an eyebrow, skeptical of the repeated error. “This doesn’t seem like a simple mistake.” Considering Kristopher’s
role as the CEO of a global company, with numerous competent assistants, a blunder of this nature seemed
improbable unless...
“What exactly is happening here?” Madisyn bit her lip in thought. “Could it be Cathy’s birthday today? But |
remember her birthday falls in winter, and here we are at the start of summer... Could | be mistaken?” As she
spoke, Madisyn pulled out her phone to check the date of Cathy's birthday.
Belinda, clad in the sred dress she had worn the day before, surveyed the decorations of the venue, and a
preposterous thought struck her. Could all this effort by Kristopher actually be... for her birthday?
Given Kristopher’s persistent invitations and the fact that he had even purchased a dress for her, this suspicion
took root.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHowever, today wasn’t her birthday. Over their three-year marriage, they hadn't gone all out for birthdays, but
Belinda always made it a point to bake a cake and prepare a feast at home. Kristopher’s presents were invariably
last-minute, yet he had celebrated a few birthdays with her.
Could it really be that after three years, he had forgotten her actual birthday? This thought lingered as she
recalled the message from Fred that morning.
Fred, who had only known her briefly, relied solely on her social media profile to keep track of her birthday. A
mix-up from him was forgivable.
If Kristopher was truly celebrating her birthday today, it would be incredibly ironic.
As Belinda was deep in thought, a taunting voice interrupted her. “And you actually showed up.”
Maggie walked up to Belinda with a sneer, her gaze sweeping over Belinda’s vibrant red outfit and Madisyn’s
more subdued blue dress. “You both seem to think it's your special night, but sadly, you're not the stars this
evening.”
She casually flipped a strand of hair from her forehead. “Shouldn't | be thanking you for being here to see
Cathy's joyous occasion?”
Madisyn shot Maggie a frosty look. “Then you'd better ask Cathy to thank us in person.”
Maggie's expression turned icy. “Really? You think you matter that much?”
She glared at both Madisyn and Belinda, her tone turning sharp. “Listen, Kristopher is going to propose to Cathy
tonight. If you try to stir up any trouble, | won't let it slide!”
Belinda’s brows knit together as she watched Maggie's assured demeanor. “Maggie, are you sure... that tonight's
event is Kristopher proposing to Cathy?”
“Absolutely!” Maggie's voice dripped with sarcasm as she shot Belinda a derisive look. “What, do you imagine
yourself to be the one being proposed to?”
“Well then, can you explain this?” Belinda’s brow furrowed as she pointed to the nearby ribbons. “Why does it
say ‘Happy Birthday?"
Hearing this, Maggie suddenly realized that all the decorations at the event were indeed for a birthday. She
blinked in surprise. “What on earth is happening here?”
With so many aides working for Kristopher, how could they commit such a basic blunder?
At that moment, Kristopher appeared from behind the scenes.
“Kristopher!” Cathy, with her keen eyes, was the first to spot him. She quickly stepped forward, looping her arm
through his, and flashed a dazzling smile as she turned to face the crowd. In the background, reporters began
snapping photos nonstop, the sound of camera shutters filling the entire hall.
