Chapter 224:
Darren clenched his fists. “You...”
“I will ask Ryland for a pay raise,” Belinda interjected with a note of indifference. “Thank you, Mr. Cox, for
providing such an excellent opportunity to the studio.”
As soon as she finished, she reached out and took Darren's arm. “Con, Darren. Let's leave.”
Struggling to control his anger, Darren couldn't afford to lash out at someone with Kristopher’s elevated status.
He merely glared at him, turned, and exited with Belinda.
As they walked away, Darren voiced his concerns. “Belinda, after your divorce and giving up all the shared
property, why would he do this to you? | must call Ryland later and ask him to rescind his order. Or perhaps |
should introduce you to other studios. It’s better to stay away from all this.”
Their conversation faded as they moved further away.
Throughout the entire ordeal, only Darren's words filled the air; Belinda remained silent.
Meanwhile, Kristopher stood motionless, watching their distant figures with a slight frown, an unexplained

“She just divorced my brother, and now she’s already close with another man,” Maggie scoffed. “It seems she
was quite close to Darren even before the divorce. Perhaps the rumors are true. Maybe the child she lost was
Darren's.”
“Maggie!” Kristopher snapped sharply.
At his reprimand, Maggie pressed her lips together and said no more.
“It's disappointing, isn't it?” Cathy remarked, her tone soft yet carrying a trace of subtle satisfaction. “After her
divorce, Miss Nelson now finds herself working as a mere assistant in a small jewelry firm.”
Sighing, she turned her gaze to Kristopher. “Kristopher, do you really expect Maggie andto publicly wear
jewelry from this studio? It's hardly renowned within the industry. | worry...”

Kristopher redirected his attention from the departing figures and replied earnestly, “This stuhas a keen eye
for design. Moreover, a new jewelry company of mine is planning a collaboration with them. It would be
beneficial for the partnership if you and Maggie wore their pieces.”
Cathy paused, absorbing his words, then smiled slightly. “So, wearing this studio’s jewelry would indeed support
your business venture, wouldn't it?”
“Yes.” Kristopher nodded.
Cathy smiled, leaned her head against his arm, and the two walked out of the photoshoot site arm in arm.
“Kristopher, as long as it helps you, I'm willing to do anything!”
“You two are so sweet!”
Maggie pressed her lips together and held back. “You two go have a date. I'm going to hang out with Helen!”
After saying this, she waved, turned, and left.
“Kristopher,” Cathy began, clutching his arm and clinging to him like a koala. “Why do you suddenly have tto
pickup today? Aren't you swamped with work?”
Kristopher just smiled faintly, choosing not to answer right away.
It wasn’t until they had left the photoshoot site and gotten into the car that he turned to Cathy with a frown. “I
cto see you because it involves Joyce.”
At the mention of Joyce, Cathy's complexion turned pale.
