Chapter 149:
“Clearly.”
Fred rested his hands behind his head, sporting a mocking grin. “Miss Miller seems quite eager.”
Once he spoke, Fred lifted his gaze and looked at Kristopher with a hint of disdain. “Now that Miss Miller has
agreed, will you follow her lead? First, delete those photos Belinda asked you to delete, and don’t forget about
the bet you backed out of at the racetrack.”
Pulling out his phone with a cool stare, Kristopher replied, “You two seem very close.”
“What's wrong with that?”
Fred's smirk widened. “If you can have your girlfriend, why can’t Belinda haveas her boyfriend?”
Kristopher’s expression grew darker.
He strode over to Belinda, his face stern as he deleted all the photos and backups right before her eyes. Then, he
transferred the money into her account.
As Kristopher pocketed his phone, he gave Fred a dismissive look.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtClearly, Fred was trying too hard to seem grown-up. Yet, the vibrancy and vigor of youth were palpable in him.
Kristopher sneered. “If you're looking for a partner in your schemes, find someone your own size.”
Did Belinda think she could intimidate Kristopher with this green young man?
“No acting.”
Belinda raised an eyebrow and whispered in Kristopher’s ear with a softer tone, “Plus, he has nice abs. Better
than yours.”

That remark wiped the smug smile off Kristopher’s face instantly.
His face flushed with anger. “You're not that superficial!”
Choosing him three years ago, despite his looks, had proven she wasn’t merely focused on appearances.
“Sorry, I've always been this superficial.”
Belinda’s brow arched again. “Do you really think | would have married you if it weren't for your face?”
She inhaled deeply. “Now that the photos are gone and the money's been transferred, we'll leave you be.”
“Mr. Cox, make sure you remove all the online news about me, and remember, we need to be at the court within
three days to sign the divorce papers.”
After speaking, Belinda turned around and, mimicking Cathy's earlier gesture, took hold of Fred's arm. “Fred,
let's go.”
Fred flashed a smile as he followed her. “Belinda, now that we've settled the bet, are you going to treatto a
nice meal?”
“Of course.”
Belinda clung to his arm, her smile bright. “What do you feel like eating? | can afford it...”
Kristopher watched them walk away, his hands balled into fists at his sides, a surge of irritation rising within him.
He had hoped for peace after Belinda didn’t show up at the court, assuming she had deliberately chosen not to
finalize the divorce. Yet, Belinda continued to flaunt her interactions with other men right in front of him.
Did she think Kristopher was oblivious?
She was openly provoking him, flaunting her disregard right to his face!
This was beyond making a scene. She had crossed the line this time!
“Kristopher.”
Catching him staring vacantly as Belinda walked away, Cathy instinctively took his hand, her eyes brimming with
tears. “Have | caused more trouble for you?”
She bit her lip. “Ever since | cback to the country, it feels like all | bring is trouble. | even played a part in
your decision to divorce Miss Nelson... You don’t blme, do you?”
Kristopher furrowed his brows and tightened his grip on her hand reassuringly. “It’s no trouble. If she’s set on the
divorce, | see no reason to hold on.”
After all, if they were to part ways, he was certain he wouldn't be the one left with regrets.
