Chapter 451

Almost every member was against the idea. No one wanted Calliope to take the helm as chairwoman, to steer

the company forward.

Sure, Monty wasn't exactly a powerhouse of leadership, but at least he knew the ins and outs of the place after

all these years.

Calliope, on the other hand, was a different story. The last tshe'd been involved with the company, her

blunders were so monumental that she’d been shown the door.

If the Jewell family had wronged her, leading to the Group's reputation getting tarnished, it was up to them to

make amends, not to hand over the company for her to potentially wreck.

The opposition was fierce. Everyone agreed that Calliope should back down, not step up to manage the

company.

Monty was sweating bullets, scared that the relentless pushback would cause Calliope to throw in the towel.

Horaseemed on the verge of speaking but held back.

One of the board members turned to Calliope and said, “Ms. Jewell, | get it. You can’t stand that your sister's

been involved here for so long, and you want a piece of the action, but have you ever stopped to consider if

you're up to the task?”

“Seriously, Ms. Jewell, it's not about underestimating you, but do you have any experience in running a

company?”

“Ms. Jewell, you need to stick to what you know, and management might not be it.”

Calliope maintained a calm, faint smile, showing no rush or concern. She glanced around at everyone before

speaking slowly and clearly, “Actually, | do have smanagement experience. Does running the Pearl Tiger

Club count?”

“What? The Pearl Tiger Club!”

A chuckle quickly turned to silence.

All eyes were on Calliope, faces etched with confusion.

“Pearl Tiger Club?”

“Did she just say she managed the Pearl Tiger Club?”

The room's attention shifted to Franco.

“Yes,” Franco replied, nodding. “Ms. Jewell managed the restaurant. Its success today is because of her. She's

the brain behind it all, the mysterious owner everyone talks about!”

Calliope surveyed the room. “Now, does being the owner of the Pearl Tiger Club qualifyto manage this

company?”

The room was stunned. Everyone gaped at Calliope, their expressions a mix of disbelief and awe. It took a while

for the shock to settle in, for everyone to process that Calliope was indeed the owner of the Pearl Tiger

Club.

Franco's endorsement left no room for doubt. It was mind-blowing.

“If she really is the owner, then she’s more than qualified to be our chairwoman!”

“No doubt about it!”

“Ms. Jewell has been hiding her cards well, the owner of the globally renowned Pearl Tiger Club?”

“Franco, is this for real?” The board members still looked incredulous.

“It’s true, she’s my boss,” Franco confirmed calmly.

“Ms. Jewell, that’s impressive!”

“To scale the Pearl Tiger Club to such heights, and everyone knows the place in Capitalton. Ms. Jewell, you must

have sserious connections, right?” someone ventured a question.

“Her network is indeed impressive. Didn't she mention it at the last reunion?”

“Oh yeah, she knows sbig shots in academia and research... wow, that’s incredible!”

Respect filled the room as everyone looked at Calliope.

Calliope glanced around once more. “Seems like there are no immediate objections. Allowto present some

of my plans for the company moving forward.”
