The three of them turned around simultaneously and saw James smiling at
Reese.
Noticing James's mixed smile, Cole cast a worried glance at Reese.
Reese pursed her lips slightly and whispered, "Director, you and Ava go in first. I'll talk to him."
Cole's eyes reflected his concern. "Are you sure you can handle it alone?"
Reese hesitated but then thought of last night's events and shook her head. "Don't worry, he's not here to cause
trouble."
Reese had interacted with James quite a bit and had cto understand him somewhat.
James may have a rough appearance, but he possessed a kind and righteous nature at his core. He was one of
those individuals who may seem intimidating but were fundamentally good-hearted. People feared him only
because of his strong demeanor.
Seeing Reese's confidence, Cole gave sinstructions. "All right, if anything happens, just call."

Reese nodded. "Sure, also, please take care of Ava more since she's not used to such occasions."
Cole nodded in agreement. "Of course."
As Cole and Ava left, James leaned against the villa's entrance, wearing a smile as he gazed at Reese.
Recalling his heroic intervention from the previous night, Reese decided to take the initiative and approached
him. "Mr. King, why are you here?"
James raised an eyebrow. "Well, | did save you. We can consider ourselves friends now. Why do you still seem
upset?”
Reese paused and replied, "I'll feel more comfortable addressing you as 'Mr. King'."
James chuckled. "Whatever you prefer."
Reese nodded. "You haven't answered my earlier question."
James leaned casually against the villa's frame, gesturing to the neighboring villa. "It's right next to your party.
Seems like quite the coincidence, doesn't it?"
In the past, Reese might have wished for a different kind of coincidence. However, after the events of last night,
her attitude toward James had improved.
She smiled and agreed, "Yes, it's quite a coincidence indeed."
James was taken aback by her genuine smile. It resembled a fresh lotus blossoming after a rain, so captivating
that he couldn't look away.
Momentarily lost in her smile, James blurted out, "You smiled at me."
Reese felt a bit awkward under his intense gaze. "It's only fair to smile at you after you saved my life."
James regained his composure, smirking. "Well, since you put it that way, how do you plan to repay me?"
Before Reese could respond, James playfully winked. "Or should we just call it even with your body?"
Reese's smile faded, and she retorted, "Mr. King, don't make such jokes."
James was tempted to say he wasn't joking. He had found Reese attractive from the start. However, seeing her
uncomfortable, his expression turned colder.
He knew that if he didn't want Reese to avoid him in the future, it was better not to say that.

He smirked and waved his hand dismissively. "Just a joke, no need to be so serious."
Reese felt relieved by his response. After all, James was her savior, and she didn't want to disappoint him.
She pursed her lips and said, "Honestly, I'm truly grateful for last night. Whenever you have time, I'd like to treat
you to dinner."
Reese intended to repay the favor of saving her life. It was a debt she would remember, even if it required
waiting for the right moment to return the favor. James smirked, looking at her. "Sure, I'll be looking forward to
your, Reese."
Reese nodded and was about to say goodbye to head to the party, when James spoke again, "Would you like to
join our side? | can introduce you to sfriends."
Reese immediately declined, "No need. I'm looking for Director Hopkins and the others."
James didn't insist. "All right then, we'll have another chance to meet up. Just don't forget about your promise."
Reese felt somewhat bewildered that a simple dinner invitation had becso formal.
As Lukas disembarked from his vehicle, he overheard James's final words.
Seeing Reese with James, his expression darkened.
