Chapter 189 Izzy's POV Finished I walk out of the living-room in a cottage that somehow looks familiar and I hear footsteps hurry down the hallway. As I look up, I see a little girl rushing towards me, followed by a boy. When they seea huge smile appears on their faces.

They rush down the hall even faster and in seconds I catch both of them in my arms. "Where are those little demons of mine?" I hear from the back of the house.

"Please, Mommy. Hide us from Daddy." The boy says and I push them in to the kitchen. Leaning against the doorfrI see a man coming down the hall, by the way he walks I can tell who it is. For a second I want to run, but then he comes in to view and he smiles at"Are you hiding those two from me?" And I shake my head, smiling up at him. I hear soft giggles besideand I push the girl a little further back. "Princess, are you lying to me?" He asks with a devilish smile on his face.

Suddenly the children run pastin to the living-room and before I can run after them, he grabsaround the waist and pullsclose. And as his face comes closer, I wake up.

I have had these dreams for a few years now and they always leavefeeling empty inside. I wish have convinced him back then, but what if he had found his Mate or if I had found mine.

Evie getsout of my thoughts by pointing out that Grace's scent is fading. I have been tracking her for over two weeks now and I start to feel as if I am getting closer to home.

Last tI talked to Stephan he toldthey had searched every hide-out and what they found was bad. One rescued captive had died a few day after they found him, other than that there were only eight survivors.

Today they chand he promised to callto letknow once they returned.

As I walk through the forest sniffing the air for Grace's scent, I suddenly realize that I am near the border of our Pack.

"Where the hell is she going?" Evie asksand I am stunned as well.

Then I recognize where we are, not far from here is a little abandoned cottage. No one has lived there in decades. The closer I get to the cottage, the stronger he scent gets.

I know there is a huge tree close by and I decide to climb it to keep an eye on Grace: Then I hear a mournful howl that touches the depths of my soul and can barely refrain Evie from responding.

Grace's P.O.V.

Seeing Maddox with Dagmar madefurious, this was not supposed to happen. Why did Max not get there sooner, he knew what I wanted and I gave him what he wanted.

I hear an awful howl and realize that someone has lost loved-one in the Pack..

Because I broke my oath as I left the territory, I have no idea who it is. And frankly I don't care.

Jordan's POV Julian just got back from his trip and I can tell that something is wrong. I push two guards aside and as I approach Julian, Nero starts howling in my head. Julian looks at me, my knees buckle and I am glad that the guards catchbefore I hit the ground.

Nero howls out loud as we both realize that she is gone and then the world goes black.

"Julian, he is coming to." I hear an unfamiliar voice say and I look in to the face of a young woman. The next face I see belongs to Julian and I can see the sorrow in his eyes.

I have so many questions, but I don't know where to begin. “It is still not easy for him to talk about it." Another unfamiliar voice says in my head. I sit up straight and stare at the young man standing behind Julian.

The mark on his neck showshe is mated and as I look at Julian, I start smiling. “At least something good cout of this." I say looking at both men. I introduce myself and I find out the young woman is Maggie and Glenn is Julian's Mate.

Maggie tellswhat they found out just before they chand tears start rolling down my face. Maggie holdsas I cry for the woman I lost, but never truly had.

Stephan's POV

Alpha Maddox is going over everything they found and suddenly his Sister stops him from talking am shocked she did that but what shockseven more is that they think that Izzy is dead. She is holding a bracelet that belongs to Izzy, but then she tells us that there were no DNA-matches to Izzy.

I can see relief wash over Julian's face and I can't imagine what he m went through. Then his eyes glaze over and for a second I wonder what he is doing, until I remember the howl from last night. I bet he has informed Jordan that Izzy's DNA was not at the site. I know I need to be careful, because the way Julian is looking attellshe suspects something.

After we are done, I head to my desk and go over the "Izzy" alert. I didn't check it over the past few weeks. I NO see a picture of her on the day of the battle and I know I might have the answer to my problem. "Stephan, report to my office." I hear Alpha Maddox order through the mind-link.

I talk to Alpha Maddox and Luna Dagmar, telling them the basics and offering a solution to Julian's situation. They agree withthat it is not our story to tell and Alpha Maddox tellsto proceed with my plan.
