Chapter 174 Stephan's POV.

On my way to the Tech-building my phone starts buzzing and I wonder who could be calling this early in the morning.

A smile spreads across my face, when I see it is Izzy. I am glad she accepted the phone I gave her on the day she left, she knew no one was aware that the number was hers and she knew I would not try to locate her with it. "Good morning, this is Stephan. How can I help you?" It is the way I always answer the phone, when she calls or if it is a number unknown to me.

I hear her giggle, because after all this tshe still thinks it is so unliketo answer is this manner. She tellsthat she will be heading to the last Pack on her list and that she hopes she will find sanswers there.

She says that she will be in contact withafter she is done there.

As I walk in to the building, I disconnect the call and make my way over to my desk. I start up my -computer and make my way over to the coffee counter With my coffee in hand, I sit down behind my desk and see an alarm icon flickering at the bottom of the screen. I reluctantly move the cursor and click it.

For a second I fear it might be an alert on Izzy, but when I see what the alert is for, I call out to Mason. It is on the Evil Moon Pack and I hope it is ssolid intel because I have had enough of dead ends on this Pack already.

And as we are going over the intel, a second alert pops up and again it is on the Evil Moon Pack. Mason and I decide it is best to gather our team and go over the information together.

Jordan's POV Julian and I are on the training fields watching a new batch of recruits sparring with each other.

Over the past few years we have becgood friends and even though neither of us have ever spoken the words out loud, we both fear that Izzy is never coming back.

Nero doesn't want to think of the reason why she won't becoming home, but it still-lingers in the back of our head. I had seen Izzy grow up, but I had never taken the tto get to know her.

Julian has toldstories about Izzy and the trouble she could get herself in. Like the tshe climb the mountain-wall at the back of the training fields. I could tell he was proud of her and if anyone could. survive out there on her own, it would be Izzy.

And that is what Nero and I kept telling ourselves all this time. I knew I had been an idiot all those years ago and I have regraded it ever since she left.

"Where the hell did you go?" Julian asks me. Apparently he was talking to me, while my mind had been on Izzy. "Tell him." Nero says in my mind and I think it is tthat I confide in someone.

"I was thinking about Izzy and what an idiot I am." I say Julian looks atin confusion and I tell him to hearout before he says anything. He just nods his lead and I start talking.

Every tthe Full Moon arrives, I run. I go to the edge of our Pack's territory and stay there for a few days. I don't want to find my Mate and I don't want to celebrate the new couples.

The older I get, the more determined I am on staying away from She-wolves during a Full Moon One day I overhear a conversation between Izzy, Dagmar and Jenna. They have not found their Mates yet and they are getting impatient.

Jenna is the one to point out that sof the older unmated males run border-patrol, so the younger ones can join the Full Moon party. Izzy and Dagmar say in unison that on the next Full Moon they need to run along the borders, just in case their Mate is out there.

A few years pass and one day Izzy asks if she can talk toabout something. We walk to the pond and she sits down on a rock formation near the water.

It takes her a few minutes to gather her courage and starts tellingthat she has given up on finding her true Mate. She has decided that she will take a chosen Mate and had ever made a list of men that she thought were suitable for her.

But one by one, for one reason or the other, they were crossed of her list and there was only one nleft. I look at her. waiting for her to continue. It takes quite stbefore she is ready to speak her mind and I am shocked when she tellsthat the last nis mine.

I tell her in a rather blunt manner that there is no way in hell want a Mate and then I walk away.

After finishing my story I look at Julian and there is anger and shock in his face.

Probably anger because I rejected Izzy and shock because he didn't know she had given up her search.

"It had nothing to do with Izzy, I would have said it to any female thatwould have askedto be her chosen Mate. Hell, I probably would have rejected my true Mate, back then" I tell him about my Father and how it still angeredthinking about what Sandy did to him.

I tell him about my Brother and his true Mate, how she lead him on and how she had finally rejected him. after months of toying with him. How the experience had driven both my Father and my Brother to suicide.

Julian puts a hand on my shoulder and says: "I understand. I just hope Ο that you will keep in mind that not all females are the same. Your Father and Brother were both unlucky to have run in to those females." I know he is right and I know that I have changed my mind about staying single for the rest of my life.

Before he walks away he says: "Thank you, Jordan. For sharing this with me.” 902 2/2 22:07 Fri, Jan 31
