Chapter 405
“Stop it.” Charlie's voice was low and husky, even more enticing in the quiet night.
Milly, however, wasn’t embarrassed at all about being caught. Instead, she said rather righteously, “I'm just
touching. It's not like I'm doing anything. Don’t be such a prude.”
He was at a loss for words.
Milly sounded like a man giving excuses like, “I'm only teasing, not putting it in!”
Thankfully, the darkness of the night hid the fire in his eyes. His gaze becmore intense. “Stop messing
around...”
Milly hadn't intended to tease him, but hearing the huskiness and restraint in his voice, she suddenly found it
amusing. She couldn't resist leaning in closer. Charlie could feel her breath brushing against his ear. “You're
already in my bed. Why are you still shy? Acting innocent, huh?”
Milly was enjoying the touch of his abs.
Charlie swallowed hard as he was getting aroused. “You...”
Milly blinked her eyes innocently. “What about me?”
Just as she was inwardly enjoying teasing others, the man suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist. In one

“Mm... mm...
Outside, the moon emerged, illuminating the room. She could clearly see the fire in his eyes. He looked like a
hungry wolf, wild and predatory.
Milly was genuinely scared now. She felt like a helpless rabbit facing imminent danger.
Ugh, if I had known, | wouldn't have teased him!
When Charlie finally stopped kissing her, Milly was panting heavily and drenched in sweat. “You ... get off me!”
The man smirked. “Catch your breath, then we'll continue,” he said joyfully.
The thought of nearly suffocating from his kisses made Milly's spine tingle in fear. She quickly covered her
mouth. “No more kissing.”
“Why not? | want to kiss you.”
Milly glared at him, whispering fiercely, ‘There are others here! Be mindful!”
He chuckled. “You're scared? You were so bold just a moment ago.”
D*mn him!
Seeing she was really about to explode, Charlie decided to stop teasing her as he lay back down beside her.
His arm, though, remained around her waist, pulling her close. “Alright, I'll stop. Let's sleep.’
Milly huffed. “Sleep? You've taken advantage of me, and now you're just going to sleep? J*rk.”
Her voice was soft, but in the quiet night, he heard it clearly.
He chuckled and said, “After this, I’m going to visit the Burnetts.”
Milly frowned. “Huh? Why?”
He bullied me, and he’s going to complain to my family?
“I'm going there to ask for their blessings to marry you,” he said firmly.
Milly was stunned. She looked up at him in disbelief. “Are you serious? Or ... have you remembered everything?”
“When did you figure it out?” He asked instead of answering her question.
Milly smiled proudly. “I guessed it from the moment you boarded the ship. | wasn’t sure if you had regained your
memory. William was so afraid of you. Only you could make him react that way. He's too dense to realise it to the
end.”
Thinking of William's departure, they both couldn’t help but laugh.
“Mr. Tate, you have to improve on your acting!”
Charlie, no, George, laughed softly, not denying it.

He could never fool her.
Milly suddenly becanxious, looking up at his unfamiliar face. “You haven't answered me. Did you remember
everything?”
Her eyes were filled with anticipation and a bit of excitement.
George hesitated as he was unsure how to respond.
If he admitted he never lost his memory, she might feel that he had lied to her. But lying would only lead to more
lies.
Taking a deep breath, he said, “Milly, I'm sorry. | ... never lost my memory. | didn’t mean to deceive you.
“When | first woke up in the hospital, my mind was blank. It wasn’t an act back then, | was genuinely disoriented.
But later, everyone assumed | had amnesia. When | saw how worried you were, | wanted to confirm your
feelings, so | didn’t tell them the truth.
“I'm sorry, Milly.”
George had never apologised to anyone before. He wasn’t sure the right way to do it. He could only repeat his
apologies with his trembling voice.
He wasn’t sure if Milly would leave him upon discovering the truth as no one likes to be lied to.
Silence filled the air.
George felt unease as he held his breath, waiting for her judgment.
