Chapter 341 Lock the Door

Lewis’ lips tightened as he stared intently at Josephine. Concern, sadness, and self-blame filled her

sparkling eyes.

However, there was one thing missing-desire.

Slightly worn out, Lewis raised his hand to pinch his brow. “It’s fine.”

Little did he know that the moment those words escaped his lips, tears welled up in her eyes

and cascaded down her cheeks.

Frowning, Lewis asked, “Why are you crying?”

Josephine cried so heartbreakingly that her shoulders trembled. She signed between sobs. Did you

find someone else to treat you?”

Lewis paused briefly, then reached out to touch her face, feeling somewhat helpless.

“I won’t do that. Don’t overthink it.”

Josephine signed, “But you won’t let me treat you.”

A faint twitch appeared at the corner of Lewis’ mouth. He suddenly found it difficult to explain.

Josephine had decided to treat him as long as he was in pain.

Lewis’ silence only made her feel more heartbroken. Tears flowed down her cheeks like

scattered beads.

Lewis felt a headache creeping up on him. He caressed her cheek and whispered, “Don’t cry. Be

good.”

Josephine bit her lip to stop herself from crying, but tears continued to stream down.

Lewis had just gone out with Sierra. Maybe he had already let Sierra treat him and didn’t need

her anymore.

Now that she was not needed, Lewis could discard her at any time.

Once again, Lewis fell silent. He didn’t know how to respond to Josephine.

After some time, he sighed in resignation and said, “Go lock the door.”

Josephine blinked, her tear-filled eyes fixed on him, not understanding why he wanted to lock

the door.

He cupped her face and used his fingers to wipe away the tears before whispering, “We can’t let

anyone see us.”

Josephine bit her lip and signed, asking why they shouldn’t let anyone see them.

Lewis answered earnestly, “If someone sees us, it won’t work.”

Josephine widened her eyes and believed his words. She nodded eagerly and quickly got off the bed,

rushing to lock the door before returning to sit on his lap.

She then bowed her head to undo his belt in a hurry.

Her anxious and flustered demeanor, coupled with the innocence and sincerity displayed on her face,

would make anyone believe that she was craving for him.

Feeling somewhat anxious, Josephine struggled to undo his belt.

Leaning against the headboard, Lewis closed his eyes and massaged his temples, not showing

much enthusiasm.

Josephine couldn’t undo it. Out of frustration, she grabbed the belt and pulled it forcefully.

Lewis held her waist and flipped her over so she was beneath him. He firmly held her flailing hands and

pressed them against the top of her head.

“It’s okay. I’m not in pain anymore.”

Josephine opened her eyes wide and stared at him as if trying to judge whether Lewis was telling the

truth.

At that moment, a doctor knocked on the door from outside.

The doctor was puzzled, wondering why someone would lock the door for no reason.

Lewis let go of Josephine and said, “Go open the door.”

Josephine glanced at him several times, but the urgent knocking at the door diverted her attention. She

got off the bed and went to open the door.

“Mr. Alvarez…” The doctor was about to speak but was shocked to see Josephine’s messy hair. He

subconsciously gulped.

Lewis sat calmly on the bed as if nothing had happened.

The doctor’s mind connected the dots. Recalling the locked door incident, he silently cursed Lewis for

being an animal.

It had only been two days, and he couldn’t control himself.

Lewis showed no expression toward the doctor’s unpredictable face and asked, “What’s the matter?”

The doctor smiled patiently and said, “Mr. Alvarez, we must take an X-ray to see how your ribs are

healing. If there’s no displacement, we won’t need to immobilize them.”

Lewis initially wanted to refuse, but he glanced at Josephine, watching intently beside him, and

hummed in agreement.

He chose to cooperate with the doctor.

The doctor was surprised as well. Why was everything going so smoothly?

Indeed, men were all like that.

It must be uncomfortable for him to engage in intimate activities in an injured state.

Putting on a knowing expression, the doctor gestured. “Please, Mr. Alvarez.”

Lewis stood up and followed the doctor out. He instructed Josephine to stay in the ward.

Josephine nodded in agreement and watched him leave the room.

Outside, it was completely dark.

She walked to the window and looked at the fireworks blossoming in the night sky. She leaned against

the window, and her whole body pressed against it.

A festive atmosphere filled the place. Delicate strings of lights adorned the trees, their ethereal glow

reminiscent of stars delicately suspended from the branches, casting a magical radiance that beckoned

from afar.

It was raining in Elysium.

Outside Kiran’s ward, thunder rumbled, and lightning crackled. The sky was shrouded in darkness, with

only occasional flashes of lightning piercing through, momentarily illuminating the night sky.

The ward on this floor was also quiet. Bodyguards in suits and leather shoes stood guard at the

stairwell, elevator, and ward doors.

Robert didn’t come today, so he was the only one in the ward.

The doctor was changing his bandages. His arm was severely injured, nearly requiring amputation

when he first arrived. Fortunately, this skilled doctor managed to save his arm.

“President Kiran, your arm will take some time to recover. You must rest properly and avoid vigorous

exercise.”

It still haunted him to look at his injury now.

Tissues from other parts of his body had been transplanted to fill the missing flesh on his arm. It was

uncertain whether they would integrate, and even if they did, the wound would

still be very obvious and unsightly.

Kiran nodded lightly. “Thank you.”

After rebandaging Kiran, the doctor packed up his things and left.

It was impossible for Kiran to get discharged anytime soon, considering the multiple wounds on his

body.

Late at night, a few individuals quietly approached the stairwell. The bodyguards noticed them first and

intended to intervene, but those individuals immediately attacked without saying a

word.

The bodyguards were quickly knocked down after a few moves.

After subduing the bodyguards, the intruders swiftly rushed toward the ward.

The other bodyguards noticed the situation and surrounded them, and a violent brawl broke out

between the two sides.

Inside the ward, Kiran heard the commotion, and his gaze flickered. He said to the nurse beside him,

“Go out and see what’s happening.”

The nurse nodded and opened the door to take a look. She saw the bodyguards and the intruders

fighting in the corridor.

The intruders seemed to be skilled fighters and were armed with dangerous weapons. After several

clashes, a few bodyguards collapsed, and the pristine white floor and walls were

stained with fresh blood.

The nurse had never seen such a scene before and quickly returned to the ward. “Oh, no! A fight broke

out!”

Kiran’s expression changed slightly. He thought it was unbelievable. “Is he that bold?”

Panicking, the nurse was on the verge of tears.

Kiran tried to get up, but his injuries were too severe. After a couple of attempts, he fell back

onto the bed.

He immediately pressed the call button at the bedside.

Medical staff rushed in at once, but upon seeing the scene, they were also terrified. They quickly

scattered to call the police and notify the security guards.

Meanwhile, the intruders were gradually losing stamina under the bodyguards’ attack. As more people

arrived, they made a decisive move and abandoned the bodyguards, fleeing the

scene.

“Chase them!”

The bodyguards wouldn’t let them escape easily. They contacted reinforcements to ensure the culprits

were captured.

Lewis would fall into Kiran’s trap if they discovered who sent them.

After being mobbed by the bodyguards and hospital security, the intruders ran around like headless

flies, causing panic and chaos. People in the hospital scattered and fled, leaving

behind a trail of screams.

Two intruders were caught by the bodyguards and pinned to the ground.

The others managed to escape the hospital and got into a black car on the roadside, speeding away in

the pouring rain.

After the car had driven a distance, the person in the passenger seat took out their phone to report the

situation.

Upon hearing their report, Conrad couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. He scolded through the phone,

“Are you all idiots? How did you get caught?”

It was a disaster. If Lewis found out, he would definitely twist their heads off.
