Chapter 1219
His expression was earnest, a look of concern etching his features. Beneath the warmth of
his eyes, a pool of shared sorrow mirrored her own.
It dawned on her that Callum wasn’t the type of guy to mock others’ misery. The passing
of Leopold had hit him hard, too.
Thalassa dabbed away the tears forming at the corners of her eyes, took a deep breath to
calm her emotions. Once she felt a bit more collected, she met Callum’s gaze. “The
situation with Debby isn’t something I can dictate,” she said. “It’s not just about me.
Lysander’s leg also got burned, and he’s out for justice.”
She steered the conversation back on track. Callum had recounted Debby’s love for
Leopold and Leopold’s struggles abroad, trying to persuade her to empathize with Debby,
to let her off the hook.
Unfortunately, the decision wasn’t hers to make.

thoughts internally, Finally, he spoke up, “Could you talk to Lysander? You’re the only one
who can get through to him.”
Just as he finished his plea, the waitress arrived with their order.
The dish was too hot to handle, and when the waitress set it down, she lost her grip. The
broth splashed out, quickly soaking Thalassa’s lap.
“Ah!” Thalassa jumped up reflexively, frantically brushing the scalding liquid from her
thighs.
“Oh no! I’m so sorry, miss, it was an accident, I truly apologize…” The waitress was on the
verge of tears, apologizing profusely.
“Thalassa!” Callum was also seized with concern. Instinctively, he stood up, forgetting his
injured leg until a sharp pain reminded him, and he collapsed back into his chair.
But without missing a beat, he grabbed his cane and hobbled over to Thalassa as quickly
as he could, bending down to inspect her thigh.
She was wearing a knee-length pencil skirt, and the dark fabric was visibly soaked in a
large patch, standing out against the rest.
The broth from the freshly served dish was scalding.
Worried about Thalassa’s injury and caught up in the moment, Callum didn’t think twice
about propriety and reached to lift her skirt to check for burns.
As he flipped the hem of her black skirt, Thalassa’s fair and delicate thigh was exposed,
the tender skin slightly reddened like a blooming rose.

At the sight, Callum’s heart skipped a beat, sending ripples through his chest.
Thalassa had been preoccupied with concern for Callum’s leg, fearing his injury might
worsen, and hadn’t noticed his movements.
By the time she realized what was happening, Callum had already lifted her skirt, his gaze

Her heart tightened, and she hastily stepped back, but before she could react further, a
cold, piercing voice cut through the air.
“What the hell is going on here?”
With the voice approaching, the air in the room grew tense, the atmosphere turning
turbulent.
The voice was too familiar, causing Thalassa’s heart to flutter in panic as she turned
towards its source.
A tall, dark figure approached. It radiated an icy, foreboding presence. It was Lysander, his
handsome face thunderous like a stormy night sky, terrifying in its intensity.
Thalassa’s eyes widened in shock. Before she could gather her wits, Lysander’s chilling
figure was upon her, grabbing her wrist and pulling her away. He then seized Callum’s
hand and slammed it onto the table with ruthless force.
The strength in his grip was unyielding, and the veins on the back of his hand stood out as
his chiseled face turned to ice.
“If your hand can’t behave, perhaps it’s time to render it useless!”
