Chapter 15 He Was Beaten
“He’s just a part-time employee and the manager kind of likes him. Who does he think he
is?”
“Don’t mention it yet. I heard from the manager that he is this year’s statechampion and he

Mervin walked to the bar counter. The manager was asking someone to gend Nate the
drinks in their private room, Mervin went up and said.

without any emotion, “I’m leaving.”
