Chapter 1090
Thalassa thought to herself that at least he had the decency to realize she didn’t want to see him.
If he knew that, why didn’t he leave?
Impatiently, Thalassa reached out to push him away, “Scram, will you?”
But he caught her hand in his large grip, and with a gentle pull, she found herself spun around into the
fortress of his chest. His broad torso enveloped her with a powerful and secure embrace.
His dominant presence, the distinctly masculine scent of him, seeped into Thalassa’s being, causing
her heart to race like a deer caught in headlights.
In that moment, Thalassa’s composure shattered. She tried to pull her hand free while awkwardly
leaning back, attempting to put some distance between them.
Lysander, however, took a step forward, one foot on the bed, the other still on the floor, leaning over
her.

Lysander hovered over her, his deep-set eyes locking onto her flustered gaze, “What are you hiding?”
His voice, low and magnetically intimidating, made her heart shrink in fear.
A frown creased Thalassa’s forehead, sensing trouble, “Hiding? What am I supposed to be hiding?”
“Rather be misunderstood than explain? You’d let them think the child isn’t mine instead of clarifying
who’s been taking the birth control! What exactly are you trying to hide?” Lysander’s question was
direct, his index finger pressing against her cheek, indenting the soft flesh and forcing her to face him,
leaving no room for evasion.
Thalassa’s pupils dilated, her heart tightened, the uneasy premonition now a loud alarm in
her head.
Had he discovered her mother’s secret? Being violated by Bruce was a devastating blow to her mother,
but for Lysander, would he mock her? Take perverse pleasure in her pain?
After all, Bruce was the man responsible for the death of Lysander’s parents, and her mother had, in
her youth, genuinely loved Bruce, even shared intimate moments with him. The irony of being
assaulted by a past lover in her later years would seem like a cruel joke
to most.

Chapter 1090
Thalassa feared Lysander’s potential mockery, his schadenfreude, and the psychological toll it could
take on her mother. That’s why she had gone to such lengths to keep the
secret from him.
“The pills were mine! I mistook them for vitamin tablets and took them by accident!” Thalassa insisted,
her eyes pleading as she tried to maintain her composure.
Her story remained consistent.

But she heard Lysander let out a scornful chuckle, “Really? Before the night you and your mother
moved to Central Ring Villa, Bruce showed up at Vibrant Oasis Residences. Stayed for over forty
minutes. Was he just discussing life and dreams with your mother?”
He had investigated and discovered that Bruce was at Vibrant Oasis Residences that day!
Thalassa’s mind went blank with panic; her eyes widened as she stared at Lysander, his commanding
presence pinning her down, an invisible force sapping her strength.
Breathing heavily from fear, she looked into his steady, certain eyes.
He had pieced it together – the contraception was for Evelyn, confirming an encounter
between her and Bruce.
No more words from her could change his mind; he was only waiting for her to admit the truth about
Evelyn and Bruce.
Thalassa felt a crushing despair, her vision clouding with darkness. She took a breath, closed her eyes,
then opened them again to meet Lysander’s intense gaze, her voice
trembling.
“It was my mother who took them. I just wanted to protect her, that’s all. I’m begging you, please don’t
let this get out.”
