Chapter 1048
Lysander’s gaze was deep and brooding. A cold, commanding aura emanating from him,
silencing the chatter around.
He ignored Elowen’s small talk; he wasn’t here for sightseeing, and he certainly didn’t
believe Thalassa had brought the kids here for a holiday either.
Little Dorian, who had been engrossed in a model airplane, paused and looked up as
Lysander entered. His almond-shaped eyes sparkled like stars, instantly losing interest in
the toy plane and dashing toward his father with tiny, hurried steps.
“Daddy, you’re here!” Dorian ran up to Lysander wrapping his small arms around his other
leg, nuzzling his head against him in an affectionate gesture filled with love for his father.
Atticus walked out of the room, holding Sophia’s hand, his young eyes fixed on Lysander,
yet not showing the same excited delight as Elowen and Dorian.
Atticus’ handsome little face was puffed up, his thoughts unreadable. While Sophia, with

reservedly at Lysander.
That was when Evelyn emerged from the room and caught sight of Lysander standing in
the hall. She gasped, almost unable to catch her breath. Her heart raced with fear.
After taking a deep breath, she mustered the courage to speak, her voice trembling,
“You… you… you… How did you get here so quickly?”
She had hoped, as Callum had said, that they were beyond Lysander’s reach and that they
could live quietly here. Her dream had barely lasted a few hours before turning into a
nightmare.
Lysander had tracked them down, dropping into the villa as if from nowhere!
With an icy glance, Lysander silenced Evelyn, who shivered under his gaze and was too
frightened to utter another word.
His presence was overwhelming, not something the average person could contend with.
Seeing the children and both Thalassa and Evelyn, his anger stirred, barely contained. His
glare turned to Callum, who was standing protectively in front of Thalassa. “Move aside!”
Callum’s heart sank under Lysander’s intimidating presence, but he didn’t budge. He
made a promise, and he was committed to helping Thalassa to the end.
“Lysander, you’re nothing to Thalassa. What right do you have to control her?” Callum
held Lysander’s gaze defiantly.
Lysander’s patience had run dry; he wouldn’t waste any word with Callum. He commanded
his bodyguard, “Throw him aside, and break his legs!”

A path was cleared between her and Lysander. Thalassa’s heart raced with panic, her
limbs failing her.
“Ouch!” A groan escaped Callum as the bodyguard struck. Pain etched in his voice.
Thalassa’s eyes widened with shock as she rushed to protect Callum, struggling to pull the
bodyguard away.
“Stop! Don’t hurt him, please don’t!” she pleaded while tugging at the bodyguard.
But the bodyguard was relentless, his fists pounding down on Callum, who grunted with
each blow.
Desperation took hold of Thalassa. In a frantic move, she wrapped her arms around
Callum and shielded him with her own body from the bodyguard’s punches.
The moment Thalassa embraced him, ripples of emotion stirred through Callum, and his
body was tensing.
The bodyguard’s fist, poised to strike Thalassa’s back, suddenly hung in the air. He looked
to Lysander for direction.
Thalassa was shielding Callum; should he continue?
