First Love 74
Chapter 74
Angela was taken aback. She hadn't realized that a doctor could pick up on her emotions just by checking her
pulse.
She couldn't help but wonder if Kenneth was trying to hint at something.
She cleared her throat softly and took a quick glance at Fiona. Then, she lowered her head and remained silent.
Kenneth seemed to catch on.
He quickly said, “Don't worry, Angie. There's no need to hold back with me. Besides, this is about something that
could directly impact your ability to have children-we need to address the problem, no matter how small it is.
Understand?"
"That's right. Tell us what's wrong, Angie." As if she realized something, Fiona frowned slightly.
Angela lifted her head, her eyes filling with tears.
“Mom, | didn't want to say this at first... but for the sake of having a child with Dexter, could you please stop
criticizingand threatening divorce? As for the matter of not being good enough for him... | understand. After
all, there's no one worthy enough of him in your
eyes...
Tears continued to gather in her eyes as she spoke. The atmosphere in the room grew

She then turned to Dexter and said, “Dexter, even though I'm not the woman you love, at the end of the day,
we're still a married couple. Does our three years of marriage not mean anything to you?
"If you have any respect for our marriage, could you please just end things with her? Otherwise, | think it's best if
we just go our separate ways.
She dabbed her eyes with a tissue, making it look as if she was having a complete
breakdown.
She couldn't help but feel proud of her acting skills.
A brief moment later, Kenneth called Fiona aside for a private conversation.
Though they were behind a door down the hall, Angela could already guess what they were discussing.
She couldn't help but feel a little bolder now.
Kenneth was a close friend of Joseph. Over the years, he had also developed a familiar bond with Fiona. This
allowed him to give her advice without hesitation.

Chapter 74
“Angela, | didn't know you were so good at acting. Maybe you should consider doing it professionally,” Dexter
said sarcastically.
Angela yawned. She casually popped a grape into her mouth and savored the sweet flavor.
“I'm sure you're equally as talented; you're good at almost everything, Mr. Bamford," she teased, a smirk tugging
at her lips.
Hearing her words, Dexter couldn't help but feel irritated. His expression darkened.
He was starting to realize he was losing control over her. Ever since the divorce papers were finalized, she had
becakin to an untamed horse.
“Angie, could you chere please?" Fiona suddenly called from the door.
Kenneth, on the other hand, returned to the living room and took a seat beside Dexter. The expression on his
face had turned cold.
When Angela entered the room, Fiona shut the door behind her, leaving the two of them alone in the room. "I
have to admit that | did look down on you before. It was because you were completely hopeless-you stuck
around Dexter and kept getting involved with Cecilia and Ursula.
“But recently, I've noticed your improvements. From now on, | won't be so hard on you..." Fiona's voice had a
cold edge, and she seemed a little uncomfortable. However, there was an unexpected softness in her words.
Angela was a bit stunned. Nevertheless, she realized that things were starting to change subtly.
Just the fact that Fiona encouraged her to get out and do something on her own was enough to make Angela
start to see her differently.
Before she could react, Fiona glared at her again. "I heard you found a job at DawnStar Design. It makes sense
now why Dexter has been so opposed to you."

"Don't be so pathetic. If you can do well at DawnStar and support yourself independently, no one will have a
word to say. At that point, it won't be you who needs to leave." Fiona sneered coldly.
At that moment, Angela couldn't help but feel a deep sense of respect for Fiona.
Suddenly, an idea crossed her mind.
"Mom, since you were the one who encouragedto learn how to be independent, | have something | need
your help with.....”
She stepped forward and held Fiona's hand in what appeared to be a sincere gesture.
Fiona studied her carefully and sneered. "What is it?"
Angela smiled knowingly.
