My throat felt dry from all the popcorn, so I slipped off the couch as quietly as | could and tiptoed to the kitchen. |

cool air hit my face as | scanned the shelves, finally grabbing a can of Dr. Pepper.

My heart leapt into my throat, and | barely had tto let out a startled gasp before a hand clamped over my

"Shhh," cthe low, familiar voice, warm against my neck.
Josh.
| froze, my pulse hammering in my ears. His hand slowly dropped, and I turned my head slightly to look at him,
but before | could say anything, he spunaround.
And then his lips were on mine.
My mind went blank.
Josh kissedwith a desperation that left no room for thought, no space for guilt. His fingers tangled in my hair,

Instead, | leaned into him, my hands clutching at his shoulders as the world outside of his touch disappeared. He
liftedeffortlessly, placingon the edge of the kitchen island, stepping between my thighs as if he
belonged there.
His body pressed against mine, and | could feel him-hard, insistent, a physical reminder of how much he wanted
me. The thought sent a rush of heat through me, pooling low in my belly.
When his lips left mine and trailed down my neck, my head tilted back on instinct, giving him more access. A soft
sigh escapedbefore | could stop it, and | felt him smile against my skin.
"Josh..." | whispered, but | didn't even know what | was trying to
say.
