Chapter 41
"You really have a way with words, don't you? But do you honestly think all this talking masks your true
intentions?"
"And how about you, what exactly are you hiding?"
Amara stared at Liliana, her gaze piercing, as if she could see right through Liliana's facade. "What are you
implying?" Liliana asked, a hint of discomfort flickered across her face.
"Just what | said. You keep coming at me, picking fights. Are you insecure about your relationship with Finnian?
Afraid he might not be as into you as you claim? You parade around the set, flaunting how much Finnian adores
you. Is that just to cover up the possibility he might not care as much as you want everyone to believe?"
Liliana becsilent and her expression shifted eventually, a flicker of anger igniting behind her eyes, her
expression grim, seemingly intimidating. Yet, she quickly regained her composure, slipping back into her

Amara had to admire her emotional control, despite the tension.
"Finn treatswonderfully, and everyone can see how much he cares. | don't need to hide anything," Liliana
said dismissively.
"Assuming maliciously Finn's affection for me, you're just bitter and jealous, so pathetic."
Her jab stung Amara. It wasn't about being bitter and jealous, but her life indeed had been one struggle after
another. She clenched her fists tight.
"Watch your words, Liliana," she warned with each word emphasized. "You can eat whatever you like, but you
can't just say whatever you want. You'll have to answer for what you say."
"Ha."
Liliana seemingly found Amara's words laughable, flipping her hair over her shoulder as she sauntered off with
her usual grace.
Amara sank down to the ground slowly, thinking about the conversation. She had only meant to rile Liliana up,
but deep down, she knew Finnian truly cared for Liliana. She had seen Finnian defend Liliana in front of Kevin; he
must be head over heels.
She wasn't so confident while making the comments. And Liliana's quick recovery only confirmed it; she must've
had all the assurance she needed from Finnian's affection, leading to her dismissal of others’ sabotage.
Amara pressed a hand to her chest, feeling a sharp pang.
Later that evening, as the crew wrapped up filming, Liliana passed by Amara, whispering, "You'll pay for those
reckless words you threw attoday."
Amara didn't understand what she meant. Exhausted from the day's work, she didn't give it much thought and
headed home.
The next morning, she was jolted awake by a barrage of calls from Elysia and Keith. It seemed something major
had unfolded overnight.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmTwitter was ablaze with a sensational article claiming to have "reliable sources". The piece alleged that the
Whispers of Winter production had more behind the scenes than on screen. Supposedly, the show's
biggest investor and its scriptwriter were secretly married, but it was a marriage of convenience, not love, and
now they were divorcing.
In the middle of this, the mysterious investor was rumored to be romancing the show's leading actress. But make
no mistake—Liliana wasn't the "other woman" because the investor and scriptwriter were reportedly bound by a
mere contract.
