Chapter 439
Vespera was speechless. She thought that Evelyn was more dangerous than a wild animal!
Evelyn threw an arm around Vespera affectionately. She leaned in and whispered, "Don't worry. I'm tough. I could
take on ten people by myself."
Dominic's expression darkened as he said, "Evelyn, let go of her."
Evelyn lifted her hands as if she were surrendering. She replied, "Dominic, you're too petty. Can't | whisper to
Vera?"
Dominic didn't answer. Instead, he turned to Vespera and said, "Ms. Gildon, chere."
Dominic waved at Vespera before warning Drake, "Control your people."
Drake looked awkward. He gave the woman a look, then pulled her aside and began scolding her in a low voice.
Vespera stepped over to Dominic's side. As she did, her eyes drifted toward the three people nearby, studying
them.

Gerard secretly ccloser and whispered nervously, "Vespera, do you feel like someone has been watching us
this whole time?"
Vespera answered in a low voice, "It's the woman who fell."
Gerard froze as he asked, "Are you sure?"
Gerard was so frightened that he instinctively grabbed Vespera's arm. He was already terrified as it was when he
felt a chill run down his spine. He glanced up only to be met with Dominic's cold stare. Why was Dominic looking
at him like that?
"There's a huge tree over there," said Dominic, pointing off to the side.
"A tree?" Gerard asked, confused.
Dominic replied, "Your hands seem itchy. Why don't you scratch them on the bark?"
Gerard was rendered speechless. He lowered his head and quickly let go of Vespera before backing away.
Vespera gave Dominic a look. Meeting her eyes, he said gently, "I'm just concerned. Having itchy hands is an
illness. If it were serious, he might lose a limb."
Vespera fell silent. Meanwhile, Gerard broke out in cold sweat.
After reprimanding the woman, both Drake and the woman returned to the group. Dominic and the others had
also just finished talking.
Evelyn went up to the woman and tilted the latter's chin with one finger. She said, "We had a little chat. How
about you and | go to the treehouse alone? We'll search for treasure. Doesn't it sound fun?"
The woman widened her eyes. Evelyn walked closer and asked, "Are you going or not? | have many ways."
The woman backed away and answered, "I'm not going."
"What's the matter? Are you only interested in going with Vespera? Am | not good enough for you?" Evelyn
pinched the woman's cheek hard and said, "You must
go."
The woman called out to Drake to save her. Drake was about to ask Evelyn to let go of the woman when Dominic
said, "She's the one who brought it up."
The meaning was clear. The woman volunteered, so she was going to follow through.
Drake's face stiffened. After a moment, he muttered, "You should go..."
The woman tried to protest, but Evelyn's grip was strong. The woman felt like her bones were about to crush.
Just like that, Evelyn tugged her away.
15 minutes passed, but there was still no sign of them. Dominic glanced at his watch, then pulled out the map
and pointed at a new location casually. He announced, "Let's head over here next."
Drake hesitated before saying, "But they haven't returned..."
He pointed in the direction of the treehouse.
Dominic responded, "You can go and find them if you want. We've rested long enough. It's tto change
places."
With that, Dominic took Vespera's hand and walked off. Gerard and Vance quickly followed.
"Mr. Reid!" Drake called out, scrambling to catch up with the other woman in tow.
