Chapter 184 Edward was tall and well-built. His black attire, especially the leather jacket, amplified his cold, intimidating presence.

He took a few steps forward and fixed his piercing gaze on Amelia, who was clearly frightened by his sudden appearance.

With a slight raise of his chin, he commanded in a hoarse voice, "Cdown." Amelia swallowed the last bit of her potato chip, her throat tightening with anxiety. "Mr. Moore, you can't just barge into someone's house like this," she said, her voice trembling.

Edward's gaze was steady and intense, sending shivers down Amelia's spine. Her legs felt like jelly as she scanned the living room, which was crowded with bodyguards. There was nowhere to run.

She descended the stairs and entered the living room. Edward stood motionless, radiating a chilling presence. "You hired the driver who caused the accident with Calvin and Janice, didn't you?" he said, his voice low. Amelia's heart pounded. How did he find out so quickly? It was impossible! The driver had been paid to keep quiet no matter what.

Watching her throat bob nervously, Edward pressed, "Was anyone else involved in this?" Amelia had a sinking feeling that if it was just her, he wouldn't hesitate to take action. Silence filled the living room.

As Edward approached, his cold, unforgiving gaze sent a wave of terror through Amelia.

"M-Mr. Moore, I... I made a mistake," Amelia stammered.

"A mistake that involved attempted murder?" Edward's tone was low and icy.

Amelia collapsed to the floor, tears streaming down her face. "It was Heidi! She putin touch with the driver. I hate Janice! I even wish she was dead, but I wouldn't have the guts to do anything. It was Heidi who pushed me. She said that once Janice's hand was ruined, she'd have nothing to be proud of anymore. Heidi even promised to cover forif anything went wrong. So..." Only then did Edward realize Heidi was behind it all. He took a step back, and his bodyguards advanced. Amelia screamed as they began to beat her.

Edward walked to the door, his hand trembling as he lit a cigarette. He didn't dare to call the hospital as he was afraid of hearing bad news about Janice.

Just then, a car pulled up outside. Heidi stepped out, followed by Simon.

"Ms. Olson, have you cup with any new crochet designs recently?" Simon asked as they walked toward the house.

Heidi beamed with pride. "Of course," she said. "I'm building my career." Just as she finished speaking, she saw Edward standing on the front steps. He was illuminated by the moonlight as snowflakes gently fell around him. His gaze was fixed on her.

Heidi's face lit up with surprise. "Edward?" She happily jogged over to him. "Edward, what are you doing here? Did you cto see me?" For a moment, she wondered if Edward and Janice had broken up.

Heidi had spent the evening with Simon, discussing new crochet designs, so she hadn't noticed Amelia's messages. She had no idea that the driver Amelia hired had run Janice over.

Trailing behind Heidi, Simon suddenly stopped, his attention drawn to the bodyguards behind Edward inside the house. There were quite a few of them. Always cautious, he stayed back.

Just then, Heidi gasped as Edward grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against the door. She struggled and started hitting his hand, but his grip was firm.

His cold gaze bore into her, his voice steady and chilling. "Did it even cross your mind what would happen to you if Janice doesn't pull through?" Because of that accident, Calvin was also injured.

Heidi's face reddened as Edward's grip tightened. Just when she thought he would strangle her, he released her. She collapsed to her knees in the doorway. Clutching her throat, she gasped and coughed for air.

Without warning, Edward raised his foot and kicked her in the shoulder, tumbling down ne sending her the steps. Heidi's hoarse scream echoed in the cold air. Startled, Simon rushed to her side. "Edward, how could you hit a woman?"

Edward finally noticed Simon. His cold gaze swept over them as he looked down. "You'd better not have been involved in the accident," Edward said, his voice low. "If you were involved, you won't get away with it." The realization hit Simon. Had something happened to Janice? What was going on?
