Brian scoffed. “Is that so? Did Ariana ask you to come?”
“Of course she did!” Gwen said hastily. “She knows she’s in the wrong. She hadn't really meant to break off the
engagement. Mr. Lodge, please forgive her for being young and rash.”
Hearing that Ariana had admitted to her mistakes, Brian said coldly, “At least she has sself-awareness.”
“Of course, she does!” Gwen quickly gave Fiona a meaningful look.
Fiona had been staring at Brian the entire time. From the moment she entered the office, her eyes never left
him. She'd never seen anyone as handsas him. She was completely mesmerized.
“Fiona, aren't you going to greet Mr. Lodge? That's Ariana’s husband, so he’s basically your brother-in-law!”
“Mr. Lodge...” Fiona lowered her head shyly.
For sreason, the words “brother-in-law” put Brian in good mood.
Even though Ariana talked about breaking off their engagement, her actions were a different story altogether.

“She doesn’t owean apology; she owes one to Eve. Bring her here tomorrow and make her apologize to Eve
on her knees.”
“Okay! Don't worry, Mr. Lodge, I'll make sure she apologizes to Ms. Granger properly!”
Gwen was beaming.
Fiona blushed and added shyly, “Thank you, Mr. Lodge. I'll study hard so that | won't let
