Chapter 123
As my fingers slid along the phone screen. | felt like | loved him again.
The moment the album was completely emptied, | stood up from the sofa and walked downstairs to buy a bottle
of whiskey.
When we were together, because he hated the smell of alcohol, | could only stare dazedly at the window no
matter how sad | was. Otherwise, he would throwand my drinks out of the house.
After the breakup, | was free to drink again.
At this moment, as if sulking, | filled my glass and drank it off in one gulp. The alcohol hit my head, and my
consciousness gradually blurred.
| habitually checked Mandy's Facebook and saw that she had updated another post eight hours ago. That was
when the wedding had just begun.

In the picture, a familiar wrist was lazily placed on the edge of a hospital bed.
Mandy said in the post, “When you are with me, it seems like | have the whole world, and | am not afraid of
anything.”
Seeing that, tears immediately overflowed from my eyes, and | couldn't help but sneer.
My fingers trembled as | drafted and redrafted a line of text. Afler a while, | commented, “You won, and I'll give
you back your whole world.”
| deleted her contact information and put the final full stop to this relationship. The next second after turning off
my phone, | threw myself down on the sofa and fell asleep completely.

The next day, after the alarm went off, | washed myself up and then went to work with swollen eyes.
On my first day in the foreign branch, | was so busy that | had no tto think about Antoat all. It was easier
to let go of a wrong relationship than | had imagined.
| also didn’t receive any more calls from home.
| thought our story had ended there, but after work, | saw a familiar figure downstairs at the company building.
Antostood with his back to the company’s main entrance, clutching his phone with one hand.
Meanwhile, he said with extrimpatience, “Her wounds got worse and infected? Ask a doctor for help then!
I'm not a doctor! I'm busy now. Would it not be more convenient for her to go to the doctor than forto go and
see her, considering that she is now in hospital? Anyway, don’t callif there's no real emergency.”
| glanced at him without stopping, planning to bypass him and return to
my apartment.
Shortly later, however, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed in my ears.
Before | could run, Antotightly grasped my wrist.
“Why didn’t you tellyou were going abroad? Was it because | took Mandy to the hospital? Didn't | already

“I low cthere is nothing about you in our house? That's our shared home. Don’t | have the right to know?”

tears at all
| forcefully shook off his hand and turned to look at him
“Tell you? Why should I tell you, and what should | say? That | saw the thousands of photos of Mandy on your
computer? Or that | saw you using our wedding as a way to force Mandy to return?”
His face, haggard from sitting up all night to catch a flight, and his bloodshot eyes, were new to me.
If it were before, perhaps | would have already softened and obediently given up the opportunity abroad to go
hwith him without him even speaking
However, this time, facing his helpless eyes, | felt no sympathy or distress at all. Antonio’s anxious expression
froze. Clearly, he had not expected that | would check his computer.
