Gareth locked the car before casting his gaze on Elisa. The latter stared at him, waiting for him to
speak up. Let’s see what tricks he is playing this time and what absurd things he’ll say!
After pausing for a moment, Gareth asked in a solemn tone, “What exactly is the relationship between
you and Carle?”
Startled, Elisa gazed at Gareth surprisingly and replied, “What does that have to do with you?”
Gareth’s expression turned ghastly at once as he glared at Elisa and laughed out of rage. “What does
this have to do with me?”
Elisa frowned as she thought there was nothing wrong with what she said.

you be this insensitive?” He hissed. Did she not see what I’ve been doing for her all this while?! It’s

Annoyed, Elisa looked at Gareth in confusion. “What on earth are you trying to say?” What a ridiculous
man!
“Grandma wants to see you.”
Elisa was rendered speechless as she stared at the man in a fluster. I can’t believe you’re using this
excuse again!
“Grandma could contact me on her own if she wants to see me. Why are you always the messenger?”
Looking calm, Gareth tapped his bony fingers on the steering wheel and answered impatiently, “You
should know Grandma’s intention.”
Elisa frowned. Obviously, she didn’t buy Gareth’s statement.
“I’ll visit Grandma during my free time, but not with you.”
“Elisa Benett, my patience has its limit.”
Elisa scoffed and retorted instantly, “Your patience is always limited, isn’t it? Besides, whether your
patience has reached its limit or not has nothing to do with me. Gareth Wickam, please remember that
we’re no longer related. Don’t make me think that you regretted it.”
Gareth’s face was gloomy, but he didn’t refute Elisa this time, as if he didn’t bother to.
Elisa took a deep breath to control her emotions before asking, “So, what brings you here today?”
Gareth didn’t answer the question, and his expression remained cold.
Nonetheless, Elisa had a hunch that he came with some other motives today.

“Let’s get back together.” He repeated himself patiently in the same tone. His words sounded like a
command with no intention of apologizing or space for negotiation.
