Chapter 587
After hearing what he said, Quinn's pupils contracted slightly. "Stop making slanderous charges against me! |
didn't look for you at all, let alone pay you to do such a thing."
Stan looked at her. "You left the car keys in the office and | went there to take them myself. There's half a million
in cash in the car, and it's still there at the moment. | haven't touched a single cent. | believe the money will be
the most direct evidence."
Theo did not say anything and merely looked at Keith. Keith nodded and said, "There's indeed half a million i n
cash in the car. The cash is in sequential order, so I'm sure it should be quite easy to find out where it came
from."
Quinn looked at Theo, her emotions breaking down a little. "Theo, I'm your cousin. Why would | hurt your wife?
You can't believe his words so easily."
Keith went over and handed a phone to Theo, saying," Ms. Grant and Ms. Cindy met a few days ago."
After looking at the photos on Keith's phone, Theo looked at Quinn with a cold gaze, and his voice was
particularly cold as well. "Didn't you say that you weren't coming back to Salt City for New Year's this year?"
Quinn's complexion was pale. She said in a trembling voice, "I... | thought it was better to go hfor New
Year's, that's why | went back. But as soon as | got home, | remembered my grandmother who passed away and
was filled with grief, hence | cback to Whaldorf City on the second day."
"Why did you meet up with Cindy, then? | remember you're not close enough to her that you would drink coffee
with her in a coffee shop." Theo's patience was wearing thin, and his tone grew even colder.
Quinn's lips trembled slightly. "I didn't take the initiative to ask her out. She was the one who asked m e out.
When she learned that | was the one who released the negative news about Petra, she threatenedto trick
Wanda out of the house or she would ask Grayson to bring Zimmer Corporations down."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe Zimmers had all passed away, and as the newly-appointed director, Quinn had not gained the approval of
many shareholders. It would inevitably cause the Zimmers' shares to crash. | had also heard from the assistant
that Zimmer Corporations was now extremely fragile, so if Grayson intended to bring Zimmer Corporations
down, it was not entirely impossible either.
Provided that the Nietzsches did not help Zimmer Corporations out. Logically speaking, a clever woman like
Quinn should be able to figure out that the Nietzsches were backing Zimmer Corporations up, so she need not be
afraid of anyone who was coveting Zimmer Corporations. However, she was afraid that the Nietzsches would
resent her and would rather see Zimmer Corporations fall.
Theo said no more and merely sneered.
Perhaps he was also laughing at Quinn's foolishness...
He looked at me, and when he saw that | had not touched the food on the table, he frowned. "You don't like the
food?"
| shook my head.
"Are you tired?” He reached out and took my hand.
| pursed my lips, not saying a word.
If Quinn was the one behind this, what would Theo do?
Moreover, Cindy was involved. These two women were a responsibility Theo could not shirk. Even though they
had done many hurtful things to me, | might still not be able to bring myself to punish them.
The corner of my mouth curved upward into a somewhat wry smile.
There were times when | wished | would not think about something so thoroughly.
| massaged my glabella and said, "Sendback hto get srest!"
| would leave it for him to decide what he was going to do with the two of them.
He nodded, then glanced coldly at Stan and Quinn." Send them to the police station. It's up to the police to
decide how they should be punished."
Quinn's body quivered. "Theo, you can't do that when you don't have any evidence. Besides, even if | was really
the one who did it, you shouldn't treatthis way because I'm your cousin."
Theo looked at her with exceedingly dark pupils. "In that case, we'll wait until the investigation is finished and
solve the problem in another way."
In another way? What other way?
Theo was never a soft-hearted person. Quinn went limp and sat on the ground with an ashen look on her face.
After leaving the factory, | got in the car and leaned back in the seat while closing my eyes. My mind and body
were overwhelmed with fatigue.
| felt something warm on the palm of my hand. Theo held my hand. “Don't worry, I'll take care of everything.”
| pursed my lips, not saying a word.
On the way home, my mind was constantly thinking about the man Stan mentioned and what he looked like. The
more | thought about it, the more my stomach turned. The car drove all the way hand | ran into the villa
after getting out of the car.
Theo chasedall the way into the bedroom and foundin the bathroom, dry heaving while holding onto the
sink.
There was a look of pain in his eyes. When | stopped dry heaving, he carriedout of the bathroom.
He did not wantto be by myself, so he instructed the servants to wait at the door and disallowedto close
it. That way, the servants would be the first to find out if anything happened to me.
After he left, | lay on the bed. | was clearly drowsy yet | had no way of falling asleep.
| gave up on sleeping and sat up from the bed.
Grabbing my phone from the head of the bed, | gave Heidi a call.
The call was answered after a few beeps.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Ms. Wanda, are... you okay?” she asked carefully.
| thought she would have seen the news by now and hummed softly. "I'm okay."
She sighed. "I've gotten my friend to investigate this matter. There's nothing from my side. The surveillance
cameras in the hotel were destroyed."
| pursed my lips. "You don't need to investigate these things. Just find someone to keep an eye on Nadia. It's best
if you can find out if she has contacted Cindy and Quinn recently.”
She chuckled. "I'll definitely investigate her, but | haven't been able to do it because | was too busy stime
ago. I'll do it tomorrow.”
"Okay. No matter what you find, you have to telleverything."
As for everything else that needed to be investigated, Theo and Tyler were already on it, so there was no need
forto do something so redundant anymore.
After a very long time, she nodded. "Okay, | understand!"
After hanging up the call, I lay on the bed, still unable t o fall asleep. There was a stifling feeling in my heart.
This was probably the most unforgettable New Year's Eve | ever had. It was just awful.
After lying down for a while, | was dazed and confused. | was about to fall asleep when | heard noises downstairs.
| was extremely irritated by the noise and lifted the covers to get out of bed.
"Get out, Wanda Lane!" Cindy was screaming downstairs like a lunatic.
The caretakers and nannies were desperately trying t o stop her, dragging her outside.
Seeing that | was about to leave my room, the female servant standing at the door persuaded me, "Mrs.
Grant, don’t go. | think that woman's not in the right mind. It would be horrible if she accidentally hurts you."
| shook my head. "I'm the owner of this house. How can | hide when someone is causing trouble in my house?"
Moreover, judging from Cindy's personality, she would not stop until she saw me.
Seeing that her persuasion did not work, the servant stopped letbe. | walked downstairs and saw Cindy, who
had stopped screaming and was merely glaring at me.
