Chapter 1271
| did not say anything else. He was a man with a distinguished identity and had bodyguards around him all the
time. It would not be an easy feat if Milan wanted to take revenge on him.
What | should be worried about the most right now was us, the ladies. | cto the company today to apply for
leave. | went back to my own office and did squick packing before | planned to go home.
I initially wanted to go to the supermarket, but because | bumped into Franky yesterday. | felt afraid. After all, |
was in the light, whereas the other party was in the dark. It would be too easy for Milan to hurt me. It was not
easy to hail a cab downstairs of Fredericks Corporation, so | had to walk a little anead before | could hail any.
There was a big gap between the rich and poor in this city. Wages were low and prices high. Housing prices were
also comparable to Whaldorf City, so many people from ordinary families lived here under great pressure. They
were not able to afford a house or save any money. Despite that, many still refused to leave this city as there
were many opportunities here. Once one seized the opportunity, one would be able to climb to greater heights.
| found myself easily lost in thoughts lately. | was planning to walk 300 feet before hailing a cab, but | was so lost

"You piece of junk. Where do you cfrom? You're filthy and smelly just like garbage." Curses sounded behind
me.
| turned to look. There was an alley behind me, and the noises had cfrom there.
Afraid that | would land myself in trouble, | took only a few steps over and watched from a distance.
A group of rascals dressed in a roguish manner was standing around a person. They were kicking and punching
the person.
The rascals did not seem very old. Maybe they were only in their teens.
"Move out of the way,” a young bloke shouted excitedly as he carried a bucket of water. Other lads spread out,
and the young man carrying the bucket of water poured all the water in the bucket onto the young man lying on
the ground
The water in the bucket was probably filthy water as all the lads pinched their noses. They guffawed and laughed
at the guy lying on the ground.
| looked at the victim. His body had curled into a ball, and his complexion was dark. The clothes he was wearing
were torn. He looked like a homeless man
Seeing that the lads were planning to kick him, | quickly shouted, "The cops are here!”
The lads were terrified of the police and dashed off after hearing that.
The man lying on the ground lifted his head,-revealing a charming face. There was no expression on his> face.
His gaze was exceedingly cold and indifferent. He looked nething like-he had been bullied. Content bélongs to

I narrowed my eyes. After straining to take a closer look at his face, | exclaimed in surprise, "Franky!" How could
it be him?
Why was he in such a wretched state?
| hesitated for a few minutes before running into the alley.

When he was able to make out my face, he froze.
"Are you okay?" | asked with concern.
