Chapter 1490 Cooking For Ian
Ian swirled the dumplings in his bowl around. “Why do you make it sound like my life will fall apart without her? I
can cook, and it’s easy to order takeout. If I really can’t cook, I can just order something.”
Aurora clicked her tongue disapprovingly. “Takeout? Takeout is devoid of any nutrition. Don’t eat so much of it.” She
then hastily added, “How about this then? I’ll come over and cook for you for the next few days. Didn’t you eat my
cooking last time? It was still edible, right? I’ll take care of you. I don’t have anything to do now anyway, and Cindy
can take over once she’s back.”
Ian frowned. “No, you really don’t have to. Don’t make it sound like I can’t handle living on my own.”
Aurora let out a sigh. “Think of it as me making it up to you. Besides, I find life uninteresting now. Being alone at
home has been boring. I’ll still have someone to talk to if I cook for you.”
She already said that much, and Ian seemingly didn’t have any room for argument.
Thus, Aurora made the final decision. “It’s decided then—I’ll head over to your place tomorrow morning. Get some
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtsleep soon. You still have a shoot tomorrow.”
With that, Aurora hung up the call. Ian put down his phone and sighed.
He also didn’t know what he was thinking. It was like many things were swirling in his mind, but when he carefully
slowed down to compose his thoughts, it felt as though he hadn’t been thinking of anything either.
Ian ate only half of his dumplings before he brushed his teeth and went to bed.
As he flopped on his bed, he stared at the ceiling in the dark for a long while. At last, he rolled over and grumbled,
“How annoying.”
Then, he shut his eyes and slept.
The next day, Aurora showed up at his doorstep. She had bought breakfast from a store and brought it with her to
Ian’s home.
Ian was still groggy as he made his way over to open the door before stumbling back to his room.
Aurora placed the food on the dining table and went to call him. “Eat something first before going back to sleep.
Breakfast is a must.”
Ian continued to lay on his bed, unwilling to move a muscle. He had kept waking in the middle of the night, so he
wasn’t well-rested at all.
Aurora stood by the door of his room. “Be a good boy now. How old are you? Yet, you’re still clinging to your bed.
You can go back to bed once you have some food inside you.”
Ian pulled the covers over his head. “I don’t want to eat.”
Aurora stared at Ian for a while. In the end, she didn’t continue to nag him. She put the food away in the kitchen to
keep it warm before sitting down on the couch in the living room.
Ian had said he was sleepy, but all of a sudden, he couldn’t fall asleep again. After a short while, he opened his eyes
and stared out of the window. His next shoot was later that morning, so he wasn’t in any hurry.
Had Cindy been around, she wouldn’t have called him awake at this hour; she would have just tidied up the house
before cooking breakfast. She would have only called him once breakfast was nearly done.
Ian shot right up from his bed. Why was he thinking of her again?
Meanwhile, Cindy got up early and checked the time.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIan was probably still asleep at this hour. Typically, he would not be up early if he didn’t have any schedules for the
morning.
Cindy was still a little sleepy, but she didn’t need to clean the hotel room. Hence, all she could do was to sit by the
window when she woke up.
Meanwhile, Naomi wasn’t awake yet. She had said that she would only need to meet her client later past mid-
morning, so she could sleep in for now.
Cindy made sure to make as little noise as possible so as not to wake Naomi. She then pulled up her to-do list and
checked Ian’s schedule for the day.
It was just a single recording for a show, so there was nothing to worry about.
However, Cindy couldn’t quite relax for some reason—she was a worrywart. Usually, she liked to do things herself.
Now that she had gotten a hard-earned break, she was still worrying her head over other things. She then side-
eyed herself a little.
After a while, Cindy brushed her teeth and changed her clothes before going downstairs. She went for a stroll in the
hotel’s garden and then left the hotel to buy some breakfast and take it back to the suite.
By the time Cindy returned to the hotel, Naomi was already awake, staring off into the distance from where she sat
on the bed.
Cindy placed the food on a table to the side. “Wash up, and then we can start digging into breakfast.”
