Lily pretended to be calm, but her heart was pounding. After all, she didn’t know why Fred let her out.

Fabian looked quite different when Cameron saw him again. The former had lost a lot of weight and

had bruises on him. Cameron heard he had fought with the people inside. The unshaven Fabian even

looked dull.

When Cameron called him, he blinked and took a while before returning to his senses.

“Fabian,” Cameron called, feeling conflicted. After all, his wife wanted him to care for her only brother,

but Cameron had failed her. He blamed himself that Fabian ended up like this.

Fabian sat there with his head hung low, trying to ignore Cameron.

“It’s me,” Cameron added, “How have you been for the past two days?”

“How have I been?” Without looking up, Fabian laughed. He cocked his head and glanced at Cameron.

“Why don’t you join me here and find out yourself?!”

His sudden outburst left Cameron momentarily speechless and relieved at the same time.

‘At least he’s still acting like his usual self. Of course, he would only get angry and blame others instead

of reflecting on his actions.’

After knowing his brother-in-law for so many years, Cameron knew he would never repent, let alone

turn a new leaf.
