Chapter 1587
Lily was surprised.
'Looks like there are people who think likewise!'
"Ahem..." Dominic coughed twice and said, "You’ve come at the right time. These two gentlemen are
whom I want you to meet."
Catching herself, Lily quickly walked over and stood beside him.
'This is the chief physician, Dr. Blanc, and Dr. Morris from the National X Department." Dominic
gestured, introducing them. 'They are experienced doctors and experts in virology."
Lily was bewildered.
'X Department? What kind of department is that? I've even never heard of it! I’ve seen movies like X-
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMen and Project X. Is there an X Department in our country? Anyway, if there is, what have I got to do
with it?'
"Please join us." The older man, Dr. Blanc, spoke first.
They looked strange sitting together with Dominic wearing a jacket over a loose T-shirt and a pair of
shorts while the other three were in hazmat suits.
'Then..." Clearing his throat, Dominic spoke first to break the ice. "Let me introduce you guys. I’ve
already told you who they are, so I’ll let them tell you what their department does. This is my last
apprentice whom I'm very proud of. Lily, do have a chat with these two experts.”
Lily was stunned.
'Dominic actually revealed my identity!'
She turned her head and stared at him in disbelief. After all, they had both kept her identity a secret all
the while but he chose to betray her at this juncture. 'Does that mean these two men have unusual
backgrounds?'
Probably feeling guilty that he had told them who she was without telling her first, Dominic averted his
gaze and waved.
'Never mind. I’ll let it go for now!'
She turned to the two experts. "May I know why are you here?"
"Since you're Dominic's last apprentice and are representing him, I’ll just cut to the chase. Are you
aware of the pandemic in Burnwken?" Dr. Blanc asked straight away.
Lily was alarmed.
His bringing the matter up made her think of Alexander. As there were few pandemic disease cases in
the country and her husband had just been transferred to the hospital in Kingsland's suburb, she was

Guarded, she said, "Of course, I've heard about it and seen its news. Why?"
"Have you done any research on the pandemic disease?" The slightly younger Dr. Morris sounded
friendlier.
"No,” she denied it. "I haven’t come in contact with the virus, so how would have I done any research?
Why do you want to know?”
"Mainstream doctors see the pandemic disease as something caused by the virus, so we would like to
know how herbal medicine practitioners would approach the problem. Perhaps we can devise good
treatment and breakthroughs if we approach it using both means." Dr. Morris said.
Lily was surprised. 'So they're here to ask me to join their research?'
